I purchased last summer knives of alaska brand knife called the cub bear, that little knife is pretty dang sharp and I use it for food prep;like small game/fish and that little knife I really like it,one of my favs when outdoors, Just wondering if anybody else uses this brand of knives (KOA) and there Experience with 'em or likes /dislikes. I have the rubber grip, it is 6.5" overall and 2.75" cutting edge made in the USA & Great little knife for the money ..

I have the Cub Bear and the Bush/Camp knife. I think they are D2 steel. I also prefer the Suregrip. I find them to be good, sturdy knives for the price. I use the Cub for skinning and field dressing my deer. I'm certain that I could even bone the whole deer with it if I were so inclined, or had to in an emergency, but I just go to a boning knife for that at home. The Bush/Camp knife is just that, a knife for use around the camp. I find it great for food prep and such around the camp. It could be a survival type knife if pressed into service, but there are probably better choices out there for that as far a length, blade steel and length, IMO. Overall, I like my KOA knives.

I think my KOA is AUS 8 steel, my knife did not state D2 as some of the other KOA did.I would also like to get the KOA axe...that thing looks great...
