Anybody ever tried one of these out? I was at Gander Mountain today and they had a combo set of a larger knife (bush camp knife or something) in a piggy back sheath with some smaller knife. The larger knife said it was D2 steel, and looked pretty nice. I didnt get to handle it, as the wife was rushing me out (I'd already bought a spotting scope, so she wasnt thrilled about anything else peeking my interest). Just wondering if these things are worth the $130 price tag.

I have the smaller knife. The Cub Bear. Perfect little knife for all sorts of uses. I plan to buy the Bush Camp soon, the D-2 I like and the fact that it really fits my hand sold me.

My friends bought a Bushcamp when they got the winning numbers for the moose lottery. I have to say the knife held up great skinning and quartering a moose. After talking part in that process I feel that is one of the hardest knife test out there is processing a moose in the field. We only used that one knife for the whole animal and it came out with only a few nicks in the tip of the blade. I am a huge fan of Busse Combat and several other major players. But the experience with the Bushcamp is enough to make me want to buy a filet knife or Denali from them. Hope this helps.

I have eight or so. There really is not anything around thats much better.

I have their camp knife and Ulu. The camp knife is an excellent all round knife. I highly recommend it. Mine has seen some moderate use and it just loves it!

I have the alaskan hunter and the cub bear. I really like both, but the fit and finish is spotty. Great users, but not terribly pretty. Bery rough grind lines on the spine of both knives. They get sharp and stay sharp. The cub bear (caping knife) is my primary whitetail knife.

I have the light hunter skinner/cleaver. Great knife. Handles great guts, skins cleaves like a dream. Not too bad around camp either. Keeps a pretty good edge.

i have had the brown bear combo for years, on a texas hog hunt we used it to process 12 hogs, it did a great job, the cleaver decapitated the hogs and skinned them rapidly, it is a very nice compact package the performs well. i think the air force trialed it as a small survival kit also and it gort good marks. i keep mine in my hunitng pack at all times. i would reccomend it highly.

I've got the Master Guide folder, OD green G-10 handles, 154CM blade. Very well made folder. It has become a favorite. I've had other KOA in the past and really like their designs.

I'd really like to have a knife like the one that is the last picture on Page 1 of your gallery. What would something like that run me, sheath and all?

I own a Cub bear, Ulu and African hunter, all D2 steel... excellent knives and not too expensive.

I got a cub bear two summers ago when I was in Alaska. I didn't know anything about the knives before I purchased it. Its a great little knife and gets extremely sharp. It might not be the best looking knife but it is very comfortable to use.

I've got one of their filet knives that I've been using for a while now. (I think it's the Steelhead model, but the name escapes me.) It's definitely my favorite filet knife I've owned. Very good quality, very very sharp out of the box, and great geometry. I'd have no problem buying another of their knives.

I was just in Cabela's. Held the Bush Camp, couldn't pull the trigger on it but when the money is there...
95 bucks by the way.

I have never used the bushmaster but I held one the other day. It didn't feel right to me. Don't know what it was but it felt off. It might have been either the weight of it or the angle of the blade. It seemed too light on the blade end and I'm not a fan of the angle of the blade.

Having not used it I don't mean to be the end all of reviews but it was enough to keep me from purchaing it.

I have the same one orrey45 has pictured, cub bear ,freaking razor sharp, great lil' blade,I love mine,I am looking at the bushman set-up,chopper & saw .... I like to pick up the ax as well...

Out of curiosity, does anyone here have any experience with their Bushmaster short machete/long knife?

I own a KOA Bushmaster, and out of my big blades, it is by far my favorite. While it looks big, its weight is minimal and is easily the most maneuverable big knife I own.
It gets used on everything from clearing trails to making roasting sticks and alot of times is the only blade I take along. I love mine.
