Besides seeing as much of the show as possible and doing all the photos I was capable of, a few items did find their way into my hands at the end of the day.

I was disappointed in not being able to compete in an effort to obtain the wonderful dagger by Kevin Cashen which can be seen here

but lets not stop with Kevin's dagger but scroll to the end where you can read the story of the Phoenix which as presented here

will shortly be in a nice display case. Now if only there was a free spot to actually display the case.

Prior to the show, I was able to hook up with Dave Harvey and collect a nice 20 year old dagger by Hugh Bartrug (for whom the best ABS knife at the show award is named for)

This knife is also in Knives: Points of Interest V4 P21 by Jim Weyer

and also to obtain the Jim Schmidt book which I have only had a wee bit of time to glance at.

Just before Blade came to a close, new JS recipient, Greg Shahan stopped by the CKCA booth to show me his fine collection of knives that he presented to the judges for their approval and it was well deserved. He gave me the opportunity to purchase this nice little fighter

One more book was on order so I stopped to see Curt, Julie and David to pick up the latest book by David Darom showing Julie's engraving and many of Curt's fine masterpieces.

Well, Phyllis was with me at the time and we both looked over Curt's current offering and Phyllis "fell in love". We now have added this wonderful fighter / dagger to another Curt Erickson boot knife in a nice display case. She did choose the dining room table as its display location.

Hope everyone enjoys these images.

Murray,

Congrats, some pretty knives. That Bartrug dagger looks really nice. The Phoenix Bowie has an interesting story!! Kevin's dagger would have been my pick of the litter as well...what a beauty.

Wow Murray!! You had a busy show and came home with some awesome knives. Phyllis has excellent taste in knives. Hopefully we can arrange something soon that I can see these in person.

Thank you for posting,

James

Totally agree with James, though it will be much more of a challenge for me to see them in person, I'd like to.
Well Done,
Dozier

Murray you definitely kept on the move and added some Beautiful pieces to your collection. It was good to see you again and I hope you and Phyllis have finally gotten over that illness and are feeling better.

Bill

Looking forward to the weekend Roger. James might like to come too. Bill -- we are somewhat better but still sleeping a lot and have rough throats at times. Actually it is a good thing I do spend so much time doing photos as I see so many knives I would love to have.

Murray that is a fine looking batch of knives you went home with it was nice to talk with you and here about your trip glad your feeling better.

Greg Shahans knife is really good looking. I had never heard of him so thanks for the view! That Erickson ain't bad either =). I love that style of engraving Julie does.

Murray,

Thanks again for "collecting" one of my knives and posting such a beautiful photo.

Also thanks to you folks that took the time to compliment my work.

However in that line up I feel like I'm in a game of one of these things is not like the other.

Regardless, it's a big honor to be included.

Greg

Great pieces all but that Fighter by Mr. Shahan, JS, is extraordinary and a superb example of such. :)

Congratulations on those fine knives and big congrats to Greg for his JS stamp.

Well done Murray, All very nice additions. That Erickson is especially nice. Congratulations and glad to hear your home safely. Paul

Tad -- does Greg's have any similarities to this one

Thanks Jim and all the others for the comments. I just never get tired of knife shows, knives and all the folks I know as well and the fun of doing images both at shows and at home.

While diversified, it is nice to see in a maker something that bears a resemblance to another maker's efforts and both Tad and Greg have done similar knife concepts and both for their JS. Pleased to own both.

Hi, Murray.

Nice photo, thanks for posting it.

Greg did a bang up job on his JS knives. I really dig the flow of his fighter and the contrasting guard and spacer material.

Tad

Wow! You and Phyllis have great taste in cutlery. Each one deserving of recognition. The daggers are all stunning in different ways and that Shahan JS fighter has perfect flow. Thanks for sharing and letting us be a part of the joy you and Phyllis acquired.
