Knives of the 2008 Josh Smith hammer-in

You did real well. That photo you got of Bruce Bump's cut and shoot is fantastic. I noticed that one was tricky.

I very pleased with that picture. Coop is going to shoot another after engraving and submit both to the mags. Ya never know maybe they can use them for an arcticle on before/after embellishments story.

Enjoyed all the images from the hammer-in, Coop. Great work captured out west and brought to us here. Thanks for sharing!

Henry Torres is one to watch. Really like his work shown.

Wow, thanks so much for sharing these pics --- there are some outstanding blades in that group...

Thanks Coop,
You bring back good memories.
Henry Torres is as understated as his knife. Coop was standing next to him looking at that Bowie, not knowing Henry, and said "wow, look at this one...it is incredible". Henry said "Yeah, it sure is nice." Coop said, "whose is this?". Henry: "Oh, it's mine." Coop: "Well, who made it?" Henry:" I did." Coop (Blown away): "YOU made this?!! THIS is incredible work!! Henry: "thanks."

Coop, did you get a picture of Dunkerly's knives he sold at the collectors dinner? I loved that small bowie with the sculpted guard.

All I can say about that Wade Colter knife is WOW!!! Of course your excellent photography helps lots too!

Thanks Doug C, and others.

WyoNonSmith: Thanks for remembering this! Exactly as described.

No, Rick didn't have any of his pieces photographed. :(

Mark J: Yes, that Colter folder was as pretty as it shows. The more I look at it the more I see design and not the colors. He's good.

Okay, I'm lost here. All I remember seeing from Rick Dunkerley were three folders and a coffin shaped, wooden presentation box. Where did he have a bowie?

There was a special collectors invite-only dinner on Friday night, where Josh, Dunkerly, Hancock, Fuegen, and Dean sold over $20,000 worth of knives. Rick had 4 knives at the collectors dinner on Friday night, one was a small bowie with lines that drew the eye like a magnet. The guard was sculpted and engraved. The food at the dinner was excellent, and the company was good. I think Josh plans to continue this in future events

Wade Colter always puts something special into his knives. He was disgruntled that some guy at the atlanta show had fondled his folder and a fingerprint etched into the handle. He spent quite a bit of time at Josh's getting it polished out for the photo.

I was amazed at how down to earth Mr. Fuegen was.
