Susan and I will be setup at the Show, as we have been since 2007. Our studio is always located OUTSIDE of the show hall in the Atrium, at Boardroom #1 (Next to seminar rooms.)

We arrive on Thursday midday, and set up ASAP. I keep going from then until early Sunday afternoon. Unlike makers and attendees, my work is DURING the show; it is stressful to do a good job, get them done timely, and attempt to say 'Hello'. In that order of priority. ;)

(NOTE: We are looking for an extra helper: To pick-up/deliver knives or help with write-ups. Buddy Thomason can't help us, as he will be at his son's wedding this year, and I have Kyle Hanson (Don's son) slated to arrive. We think can still use another. Send me a PM if you have someone who wants to make a few $$ and wants a sense of purpose beyond attendance. Thank you!

EDIT: We're all set now! Thanks to Maggie Randall, part of the SBC crew. :))

Here's a webshot of a LARGE poster I made up showing the confusing arrays of images and how a maker can help decide what's best for THEM:

As I have always done, we give the makers the MAXIMUM exposure possible with the images we create:

  • Prints for their portfolio, web shots for websites or tablets, and hi-res files for their usage.
  • Postings showing off their images on Bladeforums and the CKCA site
  • Facebook albums showing the Social networking community
  • SharpByCoop.com will always retain and display EVERY image in an album and is searchable by maker's name
  • ALL images are submitted to a worldwide network of editors for potential inclusion in print magazines.
NO ONE does more for your promotion than we do. We're proud of the extra work.

More images next post...

As is usually the case a number of makers have sent me Blade Show knives before the Show. I am busy before, during, and after this monumental show.

Sean O'Hare will have this at the CKCA banquet:

Don Hanson III, MS sent me these knives, and here's a shot you didn't see of a knife you already DID.

So far, so GOOD!

I know you'll be extra busy but I am going to peek in the door and say, "Hi", anway...... :)

Can't wait to see these. I'll be at the show but your photographs often show things I miss in person. I think you forgot the main image of my Hanson?.

I got a nice note from Steve Randall's daughter Maggie. She's going to help us. SO glad to work with her and Kyle!

Thanks Steve!

Jon: Here's the folder I missed. :)

I'm spending the day preparing to leave.

Killer pics of some absolutely beautiful knives Coop! I'm REALLY diggin' that poster you worked up too:D

Thanks Mike!

BTW: I also increased the size of my light tent by about 30%. I can shoot up to a 30" small sword, if needed.

I missed a great opportunity last year because I wasn't prepared. ;)

Excellent!!! I don't have anything quite that size this go-around, but I will have two that are pushing 20" and a couple smaller pieces that will certainly benefit from you working your magic on them. With any luck, I'll be able to convince the owner of last year's sword to let me send it to you after the show and your schedule clears up a bit. I would love to see what you could do with it!

Mr. Cooper, I'm sure you will have a great Blade Show, have a safe run to and from the show.

I have one maybe two pieces I would like to send you after the show and when your schedule allows.

Regards,

Steve

Beautiful knives and beautful pictures, congrats to Jim and thank you to showing us. Have a nice show. Ciao Tore

Have a great show Coop - terrific shots so far and I know that I have many more to look forward to in the near future.

Thanks men!

We arrived safely and setup by 3pm. We left later this eve and enjoyed a late impromptu dinner with one of our favorite makers: Keith Ouye. We could not make the CKCA banquet, which falls during our work time.

Already very sweet pieces have come in: Ron Newton, Mike Quesenberry, David Mirabile, Harvey Dean, and more.

Stay posted. :)

Jim

As I am on the other side of the globe I'm looking forward to seeing what you capture. Thanks for sharing your stunning work and the work of some of the best of the best.
Cheers Keith
