I was looking for a Puukko knife when I found a site, Knives of the North. Being me when I saw they had a couple of "carving" knives by Jarenpaa, I decided the Puukko could wait and I ordered the two knives. The order was taken, shipping was fast, all good. The package arrived a few days later, I was happy. This when things took a turn. One of the knives was just fine and what I expected. The other however, the carving knife, had rust on the bolster and the base of the blade. Just a little rust, but this is unacceptable on a new knife. I took a picture and sent an email to customer service. Customer service responded quickly and requested more pictures. This seemed reasonable so I sent in more pictures. The next morning I received an email with a return label and an indication that the knife would be replaced. I sent the knife in pleased with the customer service and emailed them as much. Today just over a week later the new package arrived.

They took the original knife and attempted to sand off the rust. Leaving scratches all over the bolster and the base of the blade. This is a load of crap in my opinion. I will keep the knife and fix the issue, however I will not buy any more knives from Knives of the North. I suggest you do not either.

Update: I just received a response to my email. An explanation, an apology, and a full refund for the entire purchase.

I hope you sent an email stating that you are unsatisfied.

I did, and I just received a response. An explanation, an apology, and a full refund for the entire purchase.

Well that is a nicer outcome. Not the best way to get there, but better. Glad you got taken care of.

Never heard of them before.
