Had to put Finny Fatkins down today. After months of him looking terrible I took him back in today as he was just not looking well. They found a large mass of cancer on his intestines. He was 15.

I’m so very sorry for your loss of Finny Fatkins today buddy. Even though it sucks really bad, that was the kindest thing you could have done. I’m saying a prayer for the both of you.

Leading up to my transplant, on oxygen and in and out of lucidity, my boy was always by my side. After a 8 months in the hospital, he was at my side as I recovered. The last two years I could expect him to be laying at the top of the stairs blocking both the stairs and the entrance to the bathroom.

I miss him greatly. Thankfully, the other cat, my mother's, has glommed 9nto me like a growth. Not as outgoing (or as vocal) but a nice furry companion. He is 16, and will probably not live another year.

I don't know if I will get another cat. As much as I love them, they are so hard to lose.

I was fortunate to have Finn for 15 years. My other cat died prematurely at age 7.

Rest in peace boy, I know you are up in heaven with my dad, sitting next to him, eating sharp cheddar with him and watching fishing shows.

I am so sorry.
I morn the loss of a pet, more than the loss of people (a select few, naturally)
Animals don‘t come with attitude. It’s because of the living conditions.
I understand your feelings about getting more critters. We have a senior cat, heading downhill.
We’re prepared, and it’s still going to be 3 days on the couch.
Here‘s a yellow tiger story. He’s a rebellions teen (cancel my attitude comment)
I have Covid, on top of eye surgery. Wife is on errands..dogs want OUT.
Do I leave dog poop for my wife, or arise from my sick bed , TWICE, and let the dogs out & in.
Mama didn‘t raise no fool. Just as I opened the door, Rascal, reared up, put both front paws, on Righley’s butt.
I‘m convinced that meant, “Dog, don’t let the door hit you!”
I still feel like crap, as I know you do on a different plane. It made me smile, I hope you do too.

hThanks, I hope you feel better.
Best name for a cat Ive heard so far
He was on the fatkins diet. I had a million nicknames for him. He was high maintenance, had an attitude, but he was feral for the first 7 months of his life. I miss the cuddles, but the high maintenance parts I don't miss. 3am headbutts were annoying as hell.

The other cat is 16 and is not doing great either, not eating, pulling out his fur. Vet finds nothing wrong with him.

Losing my dad this year was harder though. My family is very, very close.

Thanks everyone for your condolences. I've been tempted to get another kitty, but 15 years is too much with no kids. I'll be 58 in 15 years, if I manage to live that long. Not sure how long liver transplants last.

Ive lost my dad as well, but as a child. I think it is one of the hardest things you can go through in life. I hope you still carry him with you in your heart even though he is gone from this world.

Really sorry to hear about this and it brought back fond memories of my cat Sugar who we lost a few months ago. He was very patient with my goofy picture attempts.
