Knives picked up while at the Lewisburg PA knife show, Feb 2016

Those scales could be ebony as well but I'm not positive.

Looks like you enjoyed yourself at the Lewisburg show. AG Russell must of had tables? I have the two blade version of the sowbelly trapper. It is quite a tank of a knife and very well made overall. My only complaint is the spring a bit too light for my taste. But I can adapt.

Indeed I did
AG Russell was not there, picked it up from Lycosa

Thanks Morrow and Brownshoe. Upon closer review, I think it is ebony with some lighter graining through it.

rabbed this one, too. It's a bone handled Quill Knife. Measures 6 inches long. The longer side of the blade was used to properly cut the correct angle of a feather for dipping into the ink well for writing. The short blade of the other side was the "eraser". If you made a mistake, you would use the blade to lightly scratch the ink off of the parchment. Nice patina on the bone. I polished up the blade and intend to use this one as a spatula, also. The blade on this one is marked "Miller Bros Cut Co Meriden".

thank you for posting that. Didn't know of such things as a Quill Knife and I like fountain pens. Fascinating.
