RCVD Knives in Trade Gone Bad,$500 worth(again uninsured) and wrapped in an adequate(but not bullet proof)manner. In fairness I now realize bullet proof packaging, insurance and adequate description of goods are not regulated on forum.I will be leaving forum before I get Talibanned as I would just end up at GBU again since common sense is optional here. To me, common sense means that packaging, insurance, carrier, payment, ship dates and any other issues that are important to me are dealt with before the trade or purchase is done. I take care of these things myself instead of relying on other people to regulate them for me. If there are problems, even after all of my efforts to acheive a fair and smooth trade or purchase, I try to work them out with the other party privately, instead of whining on a public forum. That is my definition of common sense. Obviously yours is different.

Greetings:

Just for the record, Mr. Kelly has received his knives back in fine condition. I will let you know when I receive mine.

Best wishes to all who have followed this unpleaseant ordeal:

Actually, I don't think these things are regulated on any of the knife forums that I frequent.

I don't know you feel it necessary to get a dig in about the members of this forum, but if that is how you feel then it probably is best for you to go elsewhere. You obviously don't respect the people here or you would not have made your comment about common sense.

Problems with common sense are not just on these forums.

On another forum I described how I wanted the knife packaged. Bubble wrap, taped in a priority box taped all edges. I got the knife wrapped in a macdonalds bag thrown in an unpadded envelope! How's that for idiocy?

So you got the knives fine, but are upset they weren't insured? Why should insurance be required? If the knives didn't show up, the sender hadn't insured them, and then the sender refused to pay for them, then you would have a problem. As is, I see no problem.

Packaging/shipping/insurance needs/requirements are between the buyer and seller or traders.

Did you communicate your needs/requirements to the other party ?

If you did. . . .and the other party didn't comply ~ shame on him/her and deserves a thread here so that all (or at least the ones who read the thread) are aware of what they are dealing with in the future.

If you didn't. . .shame on you for not. . .oh, and this thread.

Keith is correct. No need to get your panties in a wad. . .with the "no common sense" folks.

I'd venture to say that none of the "no common sense" folks were part of your initial deal with blackflht.

Yet, if I recall correctly. . .there were quite a few "no common sense" folks who tried to assist you (offering advice, etc.) in the return of your wares.

Robert, as long as you are here common sense is optional.

Re-read *all* of your posts, you will quickly realize that you now sound like a twit.
Bullet-proof packaging for $500 worth of knives is what, in a $200 Pelican case? They arrived in fine shape so the packaging was adequate. Give it a rest will ya!!
