Knives that are underrated

The Condor Survival Craft is a great knife that gets very little attention. Ugly as sin but the darn thing WORKS! :D

Some of Condor's blades are definitely underrated. I Have the Combat Machete and have thunked on it pretty hard and it has held up just fine. It looks a little gimmicky but once you use it, you realize it's a fantastic chopper. The sheath is amazing, too, which to be expected from condor.

Let's keep this thread going, love hearing about the hidden gems.

The Boker hyper is a knife you don't hear much about. If you can find one in the sub $30 price range I think its great, frame lock, low riding clip, and it has 440c steel which is a really good blade material imo.

Kershaw RAM.

Ka-bar Fin fixed blade in D2 steel. have 2 of these one tanto one drop point.

Tops/Buck CSAR-T Fixed. I recently bought one of these after fence sitting for several months because there was just not enough 1st hand reviews out there, which made me wonder why. Why was it not as popular as other knives in this category, why were people steering clear of it. Finally I bit the bullet and made the purchase. When i recieved it I was very impressed with the ruggedness of the design and how it just slipped into my grip perfectly. I feel tops & buck hit the nail on the head with this one. If I was going anywhere that I could possibly end up in a survival situation and I could only carry 1 blade the CSAR-T would be it. You just cant kill the thing.

i've also had a hard time finding any reviews on this knife, i'm going to pick one up on sale today because it looks like an amazing blade for the price, i just wonder why nothing is around on this knife?

My opinion anyway.

The most underrated knives in my opinion are the ones made by Entrek USA. The Javalina is one of the best 4" fixed blades that I've ever used. The Lynx neck knife is awesome too.

I have always thought this to be true.

I always thought the ZT0200 was an underrated knife when it was introduced, and for a couple years after that. But I see more and more people singing the praises of this knife and it now stands on it's own.

Old Hickory knives can take a beating. They sharpen up and hold an edge very well. Old Hickory knives are full tang, high carbon, wooden handled, American made knives. These knives are similar to the knives used by American fur traders and the like on the frontier. They are also easy to modify. If you need a beater knife, kitchen knife, or project knife, get an Old Hickory.

I debating whether or not to buy the Backup Utility Knife by Entrek. They have good designs in my opinion. I haven't used one but they seem functional and not gimicky.

I think people turn their noses down at byrd knives. materials may be cheaper but fit and finish are right on point. Sure its a 25$ spyderco with soft steel, use it as a beater and you'll definitely got your $ worth out of it.

The Kershaw Clash has been good to me. For $25 it's exceeded my expectations tenfold.
Not sure if this one qualifies but here goes. I have an original Spyderco Delica that's still working fine. It's a fully serrated blade with the molded plastic clip. It was my primary EDC for almost 10 years and still gets pocket time. It's so light that I often forget its there till I need it.
