Those are good choices Charlie Mike.

I'd add Benchmade 710 in M2 or M4
Spyderco Stretch in ZDP 189
Kershaw JYD 2 Ti/SG2
Opinel
A bark River of choice in A2
A Stockman or trapper, or sodbuster in carbon steel
Something carbon steel, forged O-1/52100/5160/W1or W2

Just some thoughts

a crappy walmart knife
a nice spyderco folder
a nice benchmade axis lock knife
a CRK folder

in that order

edit: and a SAK!

a cheap chineese made knife
a spyderco salt
a RAT
any SAK
a Leatherman multitool

Mora knives (multiple), with wood handles and plastic. You still have them lying about in droves.

Cheap chinese folder. Because you could not afford a quality folder.

Quality EKA folder. When you finally could afford it.

"Rambo" knife with compass on the butt and hollow handle. Just to discover how crappy it is :)

SAK in different sizes. Carried as EDC for years.

Classic Leatherman PST. Because it is better than the newer models.

Fallkniven F1 (at least if you are into bushcraft). Your current favourite and go to knife.

Since you have most of the knives covered, slightly OT:

a cheap dual grit crystolon stone should be one of the very first membership cards...:p

Something by...

Victorinox (Swisschamp, Explorer Plus, etc.)
Buck (110, 119, 301)
Case (Stockman, Trapper, Canoe, Peanut)
Spyderco (Delica, Endura)
Multitool (SOG or Leatherman Old Wave)

I have some others that I like, but the above are functional, quality, affordable knives.

Just from my experience:

RAT Izula
Spyderco delica
Leatherman multi (I love the skeletool cx)
Machete

Lots of good suggestions. I might add:

Boker Subcom
Case XX Trapper
Cold Steel Voyager
CRKT M-16
Kershaw Leek
Spyderco Native
Victorinox Swisschamp

I'm not saying I RECOMMEND those knives, but one ought to try them as noteworthy examples of each manufacturer'

Well, I am 9 for 15 on your list Charlie M. I'm going to add that everyone needs to try any Kershaw with Speed-Safe at least once.

Good thread :D

IMHO...

Case CV Soddie Jr (yeller handle :D)
Case Peanut of any steel choice
a Med Stockman from Case AND Queen :D
Vic SuperTinker
Spyderco Mili of any steel choice
and a Full SE Spyderco of any choice

+1 on the full serrated Spyderco.

A double edged knife of some kind would also be a must.

Budget producers everyone should try:
Mora
Opinel
Douk Douk
Victorinox
Tramontina

My two favorite companies I think everyone should try:
RAT Cutlery
Condor Tool and Knife
