So far the only blade like this is the CRKT BladeLOCK, but it only offers AUS-6D steel. I'm looking for something that will hold an edge, AUS-118, 154-CM or even M-2 if possible. Thanx.:p

I looked at it, but the lock mechanism lookes clumsey and close to impossible to open with 1 hand. It seems the least BM could do was put a thumbstud or spyderco-type hole for the oppener. This knife doesn't exactly scream BENCHMADE to me. Not one of their finest peices.:grumpy:

It is a very fine knife actually. Top of the line even. But you have to realize its limits. I doubt you could open it with one hand. It simply wasn't designed that way.

Many "spring assisted" folders operate in this manner. The MicroTech UDT or LUDT, for example, would fulfill your requirements quite nicely.

The Kershaw knives with the speed safe mechanism have a locking feature that prevents the blade from opening on accident.

The Gerber Paul is a nice little knife if you can find one. It has a button lock that secures the blade in both the open and closed position. With a little practice it can be opened easily with one hand.

Benchmark Rolox's had a mild detent in the closed position that prevents them from opening accidentally as well.

Then, there's always the balisongs. They latch open and closed.
