I think I initially thought it'd be a nostalgia thing, like it was cute that Case offered something in a retro-modern style. I figured the opportunity to try 20CV was all it would amount to. Man, this is such a good cutter. So solid, buttery smooth action, and what surprises me most is how well it melds into my pocket, yet retrieves with zero hassle.

I just thought of 2 more real surprises.
Spyderco Dragonfly is an amazing tiny knife that can handle much more than you might expect. Fits great in a coin pocket and is a superb cutter.
Cold Steel 4Max Scout is surprising in that it is a chonk of a knife, yet opens very smoothly, and takes a fine edge. The lock is amazing (not a surprise). The price is absurdly inexpensive.

Spyderco Slym (thus far). By far the best action of any flipper I've experienced from Spyderco, which includes my Southard that runs on Taco bearings.
Its not as good as my higher end knives like the AB iMamba, RH Knives Tasca 2, or Biryukovs, but still very satisfying.
Now I just will have to see how well the Italian HT on the m390 does.

Hawk Talon: Incredible design, and fit & finish. Smoothest action I’ve ever felt in a folder. Like oiled glass. Quality through and through. Once you start you can’t stop fidgeting or looking at it. Worth every penny it costs.
Demko AD20.5. Fun fidget monster as well. Not nearly as refined as the Hawk but still an incredible design I can’t stop playing with.
I will never be without at least one of each of these in my collection.

Now this one wasn’t too great of a surprise but once in hand I just smile every time I draw it out to use. A Smith & Son folder, the overall lines of this is just flat out gorgeous, at least to me.
And the sheath, what can I say? Actually I can’t say much since it’s one that I made so of course I’m just a little bit biased

The Skaha's fit, finish, and action are still impressive, even compared to more modern flippers.

Now...this one, the brightly green decorated small Kizer fixed blade, has just a super poor blade steel/heat treat or something as it might cut one time but not again, so it claims the position of one of the first knives I threw away because I just couldn't stand it any longer
it is that bad. While it was an add in, read free 'gift' knife that came along with a folder, it just is too poor of a knife to even keep as a beataround type knife, it saddened me lol...

Definitely the Spyderco Para 3 has blown me away for how much I like using it . Really fits my hand .
Before I tried one I thought all I wanted was the Para 2 and that a little one was dumb .

(though today I was carrying my Para 3 with REX 45 in a Black G-10 handle with a Koi fish on the black clip . )

Every We, Civivi and Sencut knife I've had are super slicers. Thin blades, flat or hollow ground and good heat treatments. If you are on a budget but want a decent pocket knife that performs like a very expensive knife, buy anything they sell.
