Knives that you sold and re-purchased

I sold a mini Grip 555 and bought a mini Grip 555 in the same week. The first was the original with 44 steel, oval opener and partial liners. The new mini Grip 555 had 154cm steel (super sharp), round opener and full steel liners. Also the axis spring was upgrade several years ago.

Ka-Bar Warthog fixed blade impact series. I got rid of it then ended up buying it again. It's great in the tackle box.

Funny thing is, ever since I moved into this house I can't find it.

I sold off a Spyderco Kiwi (hought it too small for use).............bought three others after I realized how good it was. And sold off a BM Mini-Ambush only to buy two others later.

Never sold a knife, considered them all keepers. But I have misplaced a few over the years that I will need to buy again if I can locate them on ebay, all of them are discontinued long ago.

VCM3,
Who makes that beautiful sheath with the lizzard insert? I can't read the impression on the back.

I intend on eventually buying a replacement Pilot Survival Knife to make up for the one I sold. But, I am still glad that I sold my old one.

Once I get a knife, I keep it. If I find that I dislike it, I just throw it in a drawer and forget about it. When I rediscover it in 6 months or a year, I then form a new opinion about it. Or re-affirm the old one. In which case, back it goes again into the drawer, for 6 more months.

Rinse and repeat.

Sold a Swamp Rat Howling Rat and managed to buy back the Howler and its sheath from two different sets of owners (one family had the knife - the other had the sheath). Also sold a Moritaka chef knife and may buy a replacement from them.

I traded a BM 705 a while back along with other knives for a MT Scarab. I missed that little 705. I recently bought a BM 710 w/ 154CM black blade. Then I really missed my 705. Well one poped up on the forum for sale. It has black blade like it's big brother. Needless to say I was lucky enough to be able to buy it (Thanks BIGMARK). I think I have stopped trading my knives away.

lots... :oI traded my HK14210 away and regretted it, but it was for a good cause...I got a small sebenza out of the deal, which I ended up trading, which led me too my favorite folder, a Strider PT:D Never the less I still missed the 14210, and re-aquired one, when I traded away a CQC14... this trade was bitter sweet, as I gave up my Emerson, and got another HK. I would have another CQC14, if a dealer had one in stock!
I'm fairly new to quality knives, and through all my buying, selling and trading over the past year, I'm refining my likes and dislikes in folders. Some deals i regret and others I don't. One day I hope all this leads me to get my holy grail in knives, with all the little things I want out of a folder.

I know I've certainly sold/traded some knives that I ended up buying/trading for again. The ones I can think of:
Kershaw Blur SG2
Kershaw Cyclone
Kershaw Boa
Sebenza (This one I traded off & later traded for it, from another person, getting the exact one that I traded about a month prior).
Ontario RAT3
Spyderco Navigator II
Buck/Strider 881T
SOG Flash II
Assorted Subcoms

I'm sure there are more, but that's what I can think of at the moment.

I just got this one in the mail today.Same deal, was once mine, sold it,very recently was included in a purchase/trade deal & I'm glad to get it back
These were made by the Queen Co.

My dad got me started in collecting knives. He gave me this WWI Trench knife. I guess it was about 15 or 20 years ago when I traded it for another knife which I still have.

In 2002 or 2003 I saw it in an auction catalog. I knew it was the same knife. Glad I got it back. It was the only knife of quite a few including users that my dad has given me that I let get away.

Had a Benchmade 550 440C, then a 551 440C and a 556 440C. Was going to switch to the 154CM versions, but opted for a large and small Ritter numbered instead. Traded or sold the small Ritter off down the road, and just bought another one. Still have the large, got a 556 154CM for my little bro but sold that to get him something else. He could use a 440C 556, with his 40TR.

Also got a 710 154CM, got Sebbies and Striders, figured I didn't want the 710 anymore, I was wrong, got a 710 D2. Same thing with a 707, got the 707 before the 154CM 710, picked up a 705, and got rid of all of them with the 710 and 707.

Got a combo edge black blade Rukus, I hate serrations, picked up a [E Rukus recently in a trade.

Got a small micarta Sebenza, traded it for a used SMF, now I just ordered another one.

Got a 1095 Rat 3 at a local knife show, traded for a D2 RAT 3, traded or sold that one, just traded into a RAT RAT 3.

Had an Endura 3, traded it, then got an Endura 4, traded it, then got an Endura 3 again, traded it, and now I am the proud owner of an Endura 4.

Got a Spyderco Military 440V, then a CE black S30V Millie, those left, now I have a PE Millie.

Stuff I plan on getting

Strider PT, had a regular PT, traded or sold that, got a recurve PT in a trade, traded or sold that, now I am either going to get a regular PT or a PT CC.

Had a Pacific Salt SE, looking for a PE.

Last but not least, had a 707, got the 707 before the 154CM 710, picked up a 705, and got rid of all of them with the 710 and 707. Now, looking for a 707 again, and, probably a 705.

Nothing. Usually if I wanted it, it was for a darn good reason especially if it comes to guns, knives or tools.

Spyderco Delica II. Gave one to a friend some time ago, and just decided to place a bid on one this afternoon. Auction ends in 5 days, and if I don't get that one, I'll be picking up another one somewhere. That one's too good to not have any more.
