Knives to fidget with.

I've been finding that more and more lately, I've been take a couple of smaller old fashioned knives to work with me, mainly because they are easier and more comfortable to fidget with. One is a Kershaw Shotgun shell knife, and the other is a Boker barlow, both small and PC and nice to fidget with. I think I might have to get a mini dyad or Kershaw's double cross so I can get one with a locking blade. Anyone else?

Agreed, Chuck. A good bali and perhaps a good MT OTF; you've got yourself a fidget festival.

BTW, Chuck, I tried twice to respond to your e-mail in regards to my Perrin bali, but the e-mail kept getting bounced back. This was perhaps 3 weeks ago. Been having e-mail troubles?

I sometimes take out my REKAT Sifu while at my office desk, and play with it, while waiting for my next challenge. Is that what you mean?.

OK, I have been quilty of trying opening techniques on my mini-socom while at work. My co-workers around me know me well enough not to look around when they hear the distinctiive "click" every now and then.

Chuck nailed it - a balisong. I keep one next to my computer to fidget with while stuff's downloading.

Second place would be an Axis lock.

Camillus Lev-R-Lok is great to play with! It has the mechanical touch, and keeps my small mind occupied better than an auto.

I have the habit of fidgeting with my Gerber Multi-Plier. Flicking open and closing the plier is addictive.

I keep a Spyderco mini-Dyad in my left pocket as an edc. Great little knife to fiddle with. Been practicing opening with my left hand. Hope to have my MADD MAXX Jr. in my right pocket later this morning!

Well, I bought it for a hard use knife, but my EDC is slowly becoming my 24/7 fidget knife also

All day long there are clicking sounds, lol

Bali's are fun also, thought never quite got the hang of it. Might have to get another and improve my skills.

My gorgeous girlfriend just got me a large plain edge CRKT CKFF, and it is GREAT! not too sharp NIB, could shave hair, but not sharp enough for an edc, so onto the arkansas stone it went, and now the hairs just jump of when they see it coming.
the knife is just so SMOOOOOOOOOOOTH, a little thumbnail assist on the stud and it just leaps out and deploys like a relaxed auto. this is my current fidget toy. well, and the gorgeous girly, tho not at the same time.

Dann, do many people challenge you when wielding the Sifu?

I've been playing with my Leatherman PST alot. Friend of mine has one that's around ten years old, and can be manipulated like a bali-song. Trying to loosen mine up, too-feel like a little kid

I think I'd feel a little weird fidgeting with a full sized balisong. Are there any minis that are made? about how small. Sound fun to fidget with.
I think fidgeting is a personality trait, some folks do it, some don't. My dad used to fidget with his keys all of the time, and it got really annoying, with the clinking noises all time. Because of him, I swore to carry a quieter fidget toy.

Benchmade used to make some 3" balisongs.

They make keychain sized balisongs too...closed, they're like an inch long or so.

Hmmm...Knifezilla carries this one for $35. It's 6.25" open, with a 2.75" blade.

OwenM,

No, I don't think that any of our students (OR other staff members) would be dumb-enough to "challenge" me while I'm flipping that MONSTER Sifu around. (At least I don't play with my Glock pistol at work...LOL!!!).
