Knives vs. Income

I haven't gotten into the "new car" price range but I didn't blink twice at the Millennium Apogee with Darrel's own Damascus steel for the blade. It cost more than I used to make a month a few years ago. I have a little disposable income now that I didn't have a few years ago. I have been able to spend more for better than I usually would. But to answer the question, last year $100.00 would have broken the bank.

This is the place to findout the best info, the fastest anywhere. Of course it also means that you will make better, although more expensive, choices in the long run.

It's a fine line between "a hobby" and "mental illness".

i have a limit of 250.00...if i found a
knife i really wanted i would spend more...
my wife does not mind as long as i do not
make a habit out of it...i usually do not
spend more than 50.00 for a knife i carry
because if i loose, aduse or wear out the
knife it does not matter...you do not have
to spend big for knives...some i have
collected i paid under 25.00...there are
thousands of knives old and new for under
50.00...just look at the dealers they
run specials you can find some good
deals...go to some shows...

Hi y'all

My limit directly equates to how much I want the knife.

If I really need it I will pay "almost" anything.

So far I have not spent more than 100 USD for single knife. But I make only about 400 a month so it is still quite a lot of money. Hopefully this number will increase in the future

and I will be able to buy more expensive knives.

The thing I like about knives is that you can find a pretty good one for any price. Just the other day I bought an Ontario military machete and a Case "Hobo" for under $50 for both. It was fun that night when I sat down at the supper table with the family, pulled out my "Hobo", broke it apart and used it to eat my dinner (I couldn't think of a way to use my new machete at the dinner table yet).

Opinel also makes a heck of a good knife for under $10.

I enjoy buying the less expensive knives to get my "knife fix" in between my more expensive purchases (like my Randall mod. 14 I have coming in August).

So guys, is it a really bad sign if you happen to decide that your first knife is going to be a $$$$$ Sebenza..

Or does this just mean I have good taste? Hehe. Might as well get the expensive stuff, as you only live once.. My motto in life.
