Knives we wished were back

Mini Tuff Lite. This is the best cutting, all around utility small knife, period. It is Cold Steel's take on a couple of Spyderco designs and Cold Steel's design is better. This is a great small knife. I wish I had bought more.

Mini Recon 1

And

Older style Voyagers. I’d prefer them made in Japan with VG-1 just like they used to be, but I’d even take them as a budget style offering like the current Pro Lite series.

VG-1 Voyagers
Yes, I was going through some of my old knives t the other day and I found a mint Voyager 5-inch Voyager with VG-1. Even the clip was unmarred. It was still in the bubblewrap. I couldn't believe it! They just don't make them with that look and feel, but I agree with you. I wish they'd bring them back. I don't want to use the one I found, but I think I may weaken as I'm getting to the age I don't want of my nephews to inherit such a mint knife! I have a Frenzy I was going too start carrying, but it's made with an XHP blade and now I fear it may become a collector's item, too. Dammit, Lynn, stop with these 9-month production runs!

Those old Voyagers feel wonderful in the hand. And I love the polished blades! Some people may like the stone washed look, but I ain't one of them.

I wish my Buck 110 from 1983 would make an appearance again  !

Still wanting to see a Lil thicker bladed versions of both the hold out and talwar.
I can see the appeal of the Hold Out with a little bit thicker blade for heavier use.
But the old Hold Out is amazingly strong for being so light. And an amazing cutter/slicer that is plenty strong with that thin, wide blade.
I still can t see why those didn t sell well.

I couldn't agree more.I think the Hold Out is perfect for me, the blade for sure but I like the blocky handle too. Light for its size and the flatness makes concealment easier than my TiLites.Unique also that they come in three sizes. I kinda ignored them at first(didn't seem like anything unique) until I got to handle one.

Agreed. Plenty tough all around. I'm fairly sure the fully serrated HOII had a thicker blade for some reason. Not sure if specs say that or not, but I'm sure if measured mine it would be thicker than plain edge aus8 or xhp. I've had at least a dozen+ hold outs throughout the years, all sizes. Still have two HOII's in xhp and one aus8 that had a fully serrated edge but ground the serrations off. Not sure which one like more. Obviously like the xhp steel better but do like the little thicker blade of the aus8 that was fully serrated. I absolutely love the handles. So easy and comfortable to hold on to in every grip position. Everything about entire knife it is absolute simplistic perfection. I'm surprised to hear they didn't sell well cause I bought many of them, and really is a perfect folder for strength, cutting ability, and easy of carry.

I also bought several HOII s and three HOIII s, one of which I gave as a birthday gift. Also got the HOI, the first and only one of two extra large Cold Steel folders Ive ever bought. The big Hold Out is easily carried for such a formidable knife. The HOIII is very strong and useful for its size. And its size makes it possible to clip it in a shirt pocket. I ve never tried that with any of my other folders.

1st gen Voyagers with triad lock

Yes, but not full liners, if possible. Those had way better ergos. My small newer one may look good, but I have a hard time getting it comfortable in hand, and I can't mod it because of the metal liners.
