Knives with pivot bushings?

Personally, I'd prefer my knives not to have a bushing. I like to really crank down on the pivot so that I can get a lot of tension.

The stepped pivot on my Para2 prevents me from cranking down to eliminate a small amount of side to side blade play.

None of the Spydercos mentioned have a true bushing like the Sebenza. The P2 and M2, for example, use a stepped pivot, not a pivot bushing.

This is true and nearly all of those ARE affected by pivot tension to some degree, unlike the Sebenzas.

I tried that on my old m2, tight as she'd go and still swung freely with the lock disengaged.

The pivot bushing makes the (non 25) Sebenza's the most fool proof non-play, centered, "disassemblable" knives out there.

Yes...that's because of the dimensional issues someone referred to above. Some of the stepped pivot knives are slightly over-spec or at least at the far end of the range and that's the result.

Thanks for all of the replies. I understand the bushing in the Para 2 and other spyderco's isn't the same as the Sebenza. I wouldn't expect it to be either. CRK sets the standard in manufacturing. Spyderco is pretty darned good themselves but if they were just like CRK, something would be either vastly overpriced or vastly underpriced:)
