Knives with Purple Handles

I just KNOW that HHBL wants to get me a knife with a purple handle.....

What knives are already out there with a blue/pink/purple (ish) handle? I want to make sure that HHBL has LOTS of choices!

Thanks,

TJ

Dont know to much about which production knives have purple handles...maybe Benchmade? They seem to do colorful handles. If you dont have any luck, contact a forumite that calls himself 'Crayola'. He does colorful handles all the time. Dunno his email right off, but when I come across it I will post it here.

TJ - Benchmade did a run of their now-defunct Crawford Leopard with colored handles, one of them being purple. These probably are hard to find now, as they have been discontinued for some time now.

I think Shepard Hills Cutlery sells some Case pocketknives with bubble gum pink jigged bone scales.

Klotzli has a Walker design folder with blue anodized aluminum scales.

That's about all I can think of at this time. Hope that HHBL is reading this thread

i do believe that microtech made some udts with a purple handle.cold steel made some folders with blue handles, and spyderco made a pink ladybug.you should be able to find pics of these at 1SKS.the udts were made in a variety of colors. it's an auto.hope this helps.
also, benchmade made an axis lock with a purple/black handle and the 940 also was made with blue.

I know of only one knife commonly available with blue/pink/purple (and greenish) handles... handles being plural, that is what you asked for in the subject of this thread.

That knife is, of course, the Benchmade 42A or 42AS if you prefer a combo blade.

Totally (aside from having a first name as a last name and a strage first name... what kind of a mother would name her daughter "Totally"? Probably from Southern California... fer sure.) you seem like just the kind of person who'd enjoy a balisong.

TJ,
Here is a nice small fixed blade from Ed Caffrey called the EBK (economical belt knife). These are a great buy (for a forged knife by an ABS Mastersmith) at $100 but Ed does not take orders. He makes a few now and then and if you are on his email list, he will notify you when they will be available on his website. Then it's first come first serve. This one is bluish but I noticed some purplish ones as well. His web site is www.caffreyknives.com.

TJ Try the BM 730 Ares. A purple and black contoured G-10 handle. It has turned some people off, but it definitely is purple. Give it a look. Good Luck.

Amaranth wood handle/purple heart is used with custom knives. Also, purple dymondwood, Crayola does a lot with that, even did a pink one to match a car's paint job!

I'd have to side with Chuck on this one I think you'd enjoy a good Bali most of all. Some of Kershaw's new Boas also come in really colorful handles so you might try that.

TJ:

Buck makes one or two in that color scheme, mainly a couple of variants of the HTA Lightning series.

United Cutlery makes one of their Harley Davidson knives in purple, the HD34.

Spyderco makes a Clipit and a Ladybug in pink.(maybe blue also, I'm not sure)

Gigand Knives also makes several models in various colors.

None of these are as high end as the above mentions but, they are all right none the less. These are all the same ones my wife points out to me for the exact same reason: Color!

I almost forgot: the Mike Franklin knives from JoyEnterprises/Fury, one is called the Hawg and the other one is a claw/hook type blade. Both have anodized liners underneath black micarta scales.

Good luck. Andy

Believe it or not.... Totally Judy does originate from my mother! The first time my mother visited me in the house I had bought me for my 45th birthday - she walked in, looked around, and said, "This house is Totally Judy." So I live in my Totally Judy house and I use Totally Judy for user names whenever possible. So - not only does my home reflect who I am - but I try to be true to whom I am every day - TOTALLY JUDY! Sometimes part of being TJ includes being a bitch or being stupid (like bttting a zillion threads).... but TJ I am and hopefully always will be.

TJ

p.s. Yes, from Southern California - native born and raised. My mother, however, was born and raised in Tallequah, OK - home of the Cherokee Nation - of which my mother, all my siblings, and I are card carrying members of.

You may want to pick a knife that you like and have a purple handle put on it. I have used purpleheart on a number of knives and it looks great (when finished properly) and holds up well. I did the 9" folder in the attached scan in purpleheart and also the 7" folder you can see by looking at my other scan. Some day I hope to be able to do smaller folders but I don't see that well.
Good luck,
Bubba

This is a really nice colored handle from Pro-Tech. Mirror Polished Blade and very snappy on opening.

My suggestion also. I really like the design. I have a NIB one that I cant make syself carry because I don't like the purple.

These are great suggestions and I thank you all for them. But previous readings lend me to believe that TJ would much rather have a purple hummingbird half eaten by a vulture.
