Knives with Reptiles?

Lmao cc. Sorry I had to before someone else did. I stole the pic with googlefu. Not to say I haven't killed snakes before. I now leave them alone for the most part. I will edit the post with a catch and release if I find it. Your right that was a douchy thing to do but I ruined it for the next guy who probably actually killed a snake thus ruining his objective.

Thanks for swapping that. If it was in whine and cheese it wouldn't have mattered. More pet reptiles please!

I've been around a bunch of reptiles (modern dinosaurs), a defanged striking cobra being the worst, and they are next to last place (behind lethal spiders) in my pet options. But the pics, and the zoo, are awesome. Also, it's amazing how mean and painful the tail of a LARGE iguana can be.

I knew a kid who put a rubber snake on his dad's pile of sweaters, in his closet, mid-summer, and forgot about it. His dad HATED snakes. The Dad came home in the fall late, went to pack for a trip to NYC, and while everyone was eating dinner a flurry of gunfire erupted in the house.

The family ran to investigate and saw a shaking man, a smoking gun, and a pile of brass all over the room.

Glock 19 - 1
Rubber snake (and contents of closet) - 0

Cchu - Can I take that Sailfin Dragon and give him a new home? Lol. Most awesome thread ever. I don't have any reptiles at this point, but the Chinese Water Dragon is the one I'm after most.... that Sailfin Dragon may have changed that.

They're also a great way to guard your valuables. I imagine you could put a little safe in a big enough terrarium and no one would ever mess with your stuff.

Really nice animals guys, especially like that western d. We once hiked 20 miles a day in saguaro east and west looking for diamond backs to photograph for a week straight. Ending up hitting the golden unicorn and saw a Gila monster pop out of its hole to stretch its legs. Love sand boas btw and Jason is that a big indigo? Cool animal!

Bladechick I can help you pick a first pet if you need. I wouldn't recommend sailfins. They are kinda mean, their claws are little talon like razor blades. If they push off on you, you bleed. They have that awesome camo though and are pretty entertaining. Just super high maintenance. If you like a biggerish animal try an Egyptian uromastyx or the water dragon which is very high maintenance as well. The uros are a bit more chilled out. If you have room for a 6 foot cages, my most rewarding pet is the black and white tegu. He free roams. When he is downstairs with us he will walk around get bored, the seek human attention. He will climb our leg and fall asleep on our laps.

Bearded Dragon if you want a lizard -the number 1 pet in the world is an Australian reptile-I think it may have taken over from the budgerigar(an australian parrot)

Blue tongue skinks are totally awesome pets too! Tons of personality nice one! Also kudos to deadeye for not killing snakes anymore. They're just tiny little animals that try to avoid humans.

I've owned anoles, garter snakes, bearded dragons, a box turtle, and I currently own a ball python, a corn snake, and a beautifully colored but viciously tempered little milk snake. I'll upload some pics of them next to some of my knives in a little while...

I also own a black poodle, a tarantula, and a 27-year old mitred conure...yeah...I like animals

Am I allowed to ask which of the reptiles has the most interactive personality to own as a pet? I'm the kind of lady that rather have pets that recognize humans and has a wish to interact with humans by choice. Or are reptiles in general too single minded that if they escape, they would never look back and we will never find them again? Hopefully this wont be off subject.

In relation to snakes, I've babysat a corn snake once for a teacher during a summer. One day it escaped and I came home from school to see my cat standing in front of a recliner that was sitting in the corner in a guarding mode. I moved the chair only to find that corn snake hiding under the chair. Now that's a smart cat, corning that snake rather than killing it (which she has done in the past while she was outside).

Hey Jesse if your serious about getting a reptile I would point you towards jungle exoctic on 62 @ Eakin (in the Zettler center behind Burger King). We've had a breeding pair of red tail boas for about 5 years now and that is a great store to get rats from and talk about reptile care and get good advice from knowledgable and passionate people. If I was lookin to buy its the only place I'd even think about, its a reptile store, not a pet shop and they do right by the animals they have.

My Blue Tegu walks around and when he gets bored he comes to me or my wife for attention, climbs up on our leg and falls asleep in our laps because we are warm.
So does our Cuban Rock Iguana. Here is a video of him telling me that he has to go potty. He then takes himself to the bathroom where there is a tile floor and does his business there. Generally, reptiles do their own thing, but lots of them will recognize their owners for certain.
