Knives with ridiculous or crazy profiles...

OK uber cheezy fantasy knives don't count!

Hmm...that eliminates that Extrema Ratio RAO, all of Dark Ops, the Brous "Blades" thing I posted, everything with urban camo coating, anything with "Spec," "Zombie," or "Survival" in its name, any folder with a blade longer than 6 inches long, anything endorsed by someone on TV, ...

Well now I got nothin'.

Don't even get me started on this guy's design abortions. From day one (I believe it was Kut Throat Kutlery) I can only laugh at what I see him produce.

i actually disagree with this one, if you need a knife that can pry as well as cut this is a good design, like breaching doors or something.

something tells me your pretty traditional in your preferred blades!, those little Atwoods are awesome and highly collectable, i don't think they would qualify cause they are meant to be multi use tools including a blade.

Why start a thread and then refute half of what is posted?

OK uber cheezy fantasy knives don't count! only knives that have the intent of being serious if that makes any sense. basically really badly designed knives, not knives that are meant to be over the top, they just ended up that way.

Why start a thread and then limit its contents? I'm sure that some wacky bastard out there is dead serious about owning and using some of those garbage fantasy blades.

Me too, but it haunts my dreams.

But the OP did request "OK uber cheezy fantasy knives don't count!" so the Brous stuff is out. Only stuff where the designer was actually serious about making an actual functioning knife is in. I'll abide by the request!

It really is a testament to how odd people are, the number of weird blades we can produce.

I think the Brous pieces are very interesting to look at for the degree of technical work in the grinds, but probably wouldn't ever buy or carry one as they are, to me, mostly art knives. He does have a few useful looking models though. :)

Most of those Atwoods are decent but the top left and the two bottom left are strange, even for multipurpose.

And that's a good point about fantasy blades not counting cuz they are meant to be crazy, but I thought about two companies with some of the fugliest knives around and that's MTech, Dark OPs and Mantis.
Here's the MTech model-

The mantis-

Exactly! And that's why MTeach, Mantis, the Extrema Ratio RAO, all of Dark Ops, the Brous "Blades" thing I posted, everything with urban camo coating, anything with "Spec," "Zombie," or "Survival" in its name, any folder with a blade longer than 6 inches long, anything endorsed by someone on TV, etc don't count! They are fantasy knives, right?

The "no fantasy knives" caveat makes this thread extraordinarily challenging! I am stumped.

Many of the knives with "survival" and "spec" in their names are made to be used. They are, however, the delusions of the purchasers for which most of these knives are bought.

Then again, the REAL intent of all knife makers is to SELL knives. Thus, all knives are made to be SOLD. In that, they must appeal to the purchasers. QED, all knives are art knives and none qualify for this thread...
