Hello everyone, I live in LA California so I tend to only carry a folder with blade less than 3" as EDC, I recently got the spyderco delica with the Emerson wave feature and I'm in love with it so I wanted to buy another knife with wave feature as long as it has high quality steel and less than 3" any suggestions?
Also is there any other knives with compression locks(like the spyderco PM2) with blade less than 3"?

Why not get a real Emerson....micro-Commander, 2.9" blade. Blade that looks and works like a 3.25". Waved, even has your Spydie hole; made right there in California. Recently discontinued, but they're available used at reasonable prices. Might still be some new ones left, not sure.

And compared to your delica it's Ft. Knox.

It's a little bit too expensive for me plus it has a curved blade which from my experience is s pain in the ass to sharpen haha, thank you tho :)

May I ask why you carry under three inches? I'm from riverside and my understanding of los Angelos laws is over three inch folders must be in pocket and no fixed blades over three inch. Don't take my word but that's how I understood it. If you got a grinder you could probably wave a mini griptilian

Emerson cqc14-snubby, made specifically to have a full size knife with a sub 3" blade.

Not correct. It's a length limit period. Lawmakers would have to actually know something to distinguish between folders and fixed.

Zero

Emerson is who developed & patented the wave feature; so why not buy an Emerson? You asked about knives with the wave feature.

I own and recommend this -- I love the wave and the handle choil.

Just be aware, the full-size handle makes for a hefty folder.

I live in LA Co too. Over the years I've gone three ways for under three inch blades. First was the Gerber Mini Covert. I chose it because it was spring assist. But it was too cheap. Mystery steel, cheap Teflon blade coating, cheap plastic handle material, cheap assist spring that barely deployed blade and safety that turned on accidentally. I used two of these for a few years. Next was the Wave Delica. Nice knife, but for self defense, I thought the Wave hook was too big and would interfere with penetration. Third and current use is the CRKT Mini Ripple which are flippers. I carry up to three at a time. Then I was thinking about taking my full sized Griptilian and grinding down the blade to less than three inches. So full sized handle, thicker and wider blade but legal. But then I realized finding a good knife under three inches wasn't the solution. The best solution is to move out of CA! I should be out of here within a year. Happy times ahead!

Have a look at DPX GEAR knives. The bottle opener worx just like the wave, actually I like it better. They have a few models with blades under 3" & one just over at 3.15". Niolox is the steel being used on most of the DPX lines . It takes n holds a good edge as well.I love mine and there are a few others who like and would suggest them as well. Some of the newer models are using different steels but they have always USED top notch materials. Good luck with the search.
