Knives you dont like. (Add pictures )

Why anyone uses carbon steel on kitchen cutlery is puzzling.

Ease of sharpening to a usable edge. Steel with a patina is perfectly sanitary and the acrid smell of reaction of acids with carbon steels generally goes away after the patina forms.

This!

I would love that set of patina'ed kitchen knives. I like it. I also love traditional slipjoints, in carbon steel even. No locks, no clips all good!

I am not a big fan of serrations.

I don't like anything with "survival" style saw backed blade.

I'm probably one of the few that doesn't like frame locks. One hard day of use later the lockbar is basically touching the other side, and the lockbar cutout at the choil is incredibly annoying for comfort.

It amazes me no ones ever complains about it, to me it's like a broken handle.

And I hate all companies that void the warranty because you disassembled the knife, probably to fix something that shouldn't have passed quality control in the first place.

That frame-lock is broken. My ZT 0300 is 3+ years old and the lock is goes less than 50% across and has never failed in use. On a proper liner/frame lock the tang should be curved.

I agree about bad warranty's, especially if the knife has been modified.

I don't like knives that aren't functional.

Colored bone knives... No.
Old slipjoints with that shrinking/cracking plastic... No.

I really don't care for framelocks, really any knife with a metal handle... wood, G-10, Micarta, FRN.

I don't like knives that I can't operate with ease with both hands... so those righty only framelocks... No thanks.

I really would prefer more knives with thinner stock and FFG or full convex.

I don't like half hallow grinds.

I don't like partial serrations.

I don't like full serrations.

I don't like sawbacks.

and I will not eat green eggs and ham, not in a box and NOT with a fox. :)

LOL
I love that knife!!:o:rolleyes:
It can be used as a necklace pendant or a money clip...heheheh
It's actually got decent fit and finish for a cheap Wal-Mart knife...

Looks cheesy
and I don't like truck bed liner spray on my shanks.... ;)

Love patina carbon blades, hate Franklin Mint collectable knives or any wall hanger that doesn't have an edge.

Kershaw Chill- nice price, decent size, lousy cheap feeling handle, a pain to open in any fashion
Spyderco Delica and Endura- "ergonomic" handles, poor lockup
Kabar mini Dozier- poor lockup, handles flex
Kershaw Half Ton- the absolute worst lockup of any knife I've ever had, nice little guillotine
Kershaw Leek (framelock)- too heavy, tip too thin, blade so far off center it's bent
Buck 55- lousy unfixable lockup, off center blade (? don't quite remember)
CRKT M16- ok knife, will not go back together after disassembling
Vic Bantam- love it, hate how far the combo tool sticks out when closed

Have all the above, wish I didn't. :D

I really hate a Vic Alox Solo with a flathead/bottle opener (sort of like but not like a Bantam XL), because it doesn't exist. :D

That looks like a great gift...

for your LEAST favorite nephew.

You know the one I'm talking about, the little smart-ass who's parents don't dicipline him and as a result he's an annoying little sh*t. All the other nephews get Benchmade, little Johnny smart-ass gets THAT. What worse punishment can you inflict than to gift a REALLY fugly knife.

What an eye-sore!

Oh, I definitely know. My nephew was like that. I bought him a cheapo gas station Spyderco rip-off. He's outta the S.A. phase. But, I wouldn't say good enough for me to spend Benchmade money lol.

I don't know why, but this knife bugs the hell out of me. I feel bad that Kershaw is putting their name on this POS.

Kershaw Northside Hunter

You know, I actually have a couple of those that I picked up for $12 each, just for the novelty.

I discovered that the blade shape is very kitchen friendly. Then I found that it holds an edge better than I had expected.

It's certainly not a heavy duty piece, but it would certainly serve as a cheap around-camp knife or something to take along on a picnic to slice salami and cheese.

I rate the value at closer to $20, so I figure I got a decent deal on them. The same essential blade shape can be found in the Kershaw Pack Rat and the Kershaw Field Knife, and it's a good profile.

Let's put it this way: I wouldn't feel bad about lending one of these.

I know I'm going against the majority here, but I just do not like the Spyderco Military.I traded into one once. The S90V/CF sprint.I had it for about a week.I just couldn't warm up to it.It was too big & bulky for my taste.I love just about every other spydie there is,go figure.

Also the only type of locks I like on folders are (in this order) framelocks,mid-locks & very well made linerlocks.I'm also very tired of black G10.
