Knives you have lost along the way

Since joining the forum, I have done a little researching and replacing knives I've lost along the way(mostly from my youth). Thanks to the knowledgeable folks here they were able to correctly ID a couple from my sketchy recollections of knives I had about 30 years ago. These include a Colonial Coyote lockback-my first knife given to me by my grandfather. An Imperial lockback(first knife I bought myself), a Case 6265 SAB, Edge 496 Buffalo skinner, and couple of Buck Odessey folders.
I haven't replaced the Buffalo skinner yet but I will. I've moved on from the Bucks and don't really miss them, they were very good general use and work knives.
I lost one of the Bucks setting on top of an ice chest when I was cutting bait on a fishing trip. Next thing I knew I was opening the lid to toss in a big spotted catfish and my knife slides overboard in slow motion, nothing to do but keep fishing.

Anyone else got a story of losing knives or replacing long lost knives?

i lost my boker kwaiken titanium, really like that knife hoping it shows up somewhere

The only knife I ever lost was a spyderco endura in the early 90s when it had the integral plastic pocket clip.

Don’t know where my small 21 insingo is. Only one “lost” thus far and hoping it will show up one day in a jacket pocket or somewhere at some point.

I have lost/misplaced going on several years now a Vic Locksmith. Have not replaced it. I did replace a Schrade USA 250T a couple years ago for old times sake. Carried that knife for about 5 years in the field and then off an on hunting and working.

An old cheapo keychain balisong my dad gave me, and some 5$ flea market linerlocks, other than that Ive not lost anything permanently.

I have lost dozens of Tree Brand, Case, and other good brands of barlow and stockman knives. They tended to fall out of my pocket when we kids played football or rough housed. Since I have grown up, I have lost exactly one. It was a custom Buck 501 with stag scales. Someone stole it while I worked out at Gold's Gym many years ago.

I have lost a green bone case copperlock with the brass bow tie shield, haven't found another since then:/

The only thing I've lost is a little Joker pocket knife. I used it for everything and I don't know where it ended up. I wish it turns up one day.

A Smith & Wesson spring assisted rescue knife. I've since replaced it and now in my cars glovebox as a backup only.

I lost a Strider/Buck folder on a carnival ride, and a Kershaw Blackout while working as a garbage man. As a side note......I had a first generation Spyderco Endura that my dad lost on me on a motorcycle ride.

IIRC, I've lost 3 total. I lost 2 no name knives in my early teens. #1 Camping in Alpena, MI. #2 I'm sure one bounced out of my pocket while on a ATV in Iron Mountain, MI. #3 Lost my Gerber Paraframe in the Smokey Mtns.

I haven't lost one in 25 years.

I have also never lost my car keys, wallet, or locked myself out of my home/condo/apartment/car.

I lost a Devin Thomas custom slip joint and a Microtech to contact solution in a suitcase.

I’ve lost two knives over the years. First was a mop handled slip joint with two pen blades. Had it since I was a kid, might find it in the garage one of these days. Might be long gone.
Second was a Crkt stubby Razel. Great little knife, much better than the larger folding Razel they put out. Got a replacement but it wasn’t as nice as the first, inconsistent q.c.

I once "lost" a Spyderco Manix 2 Cts bd1 lw. Really ticked me off, but truth be told it was alright because it led to me getting the standard s30v Manix, and then later the S110v lightweight.

I lost several machetes and a bayonet when I was a kid. I still look around for the bayonet when I visit my parents.

I recently lost a Kershaw Emerson at the beach. I have no idea how it came out of my trunks! Cheap knife, but still bugs me.

Since receiving my first knife in 1961, the knives I have lost have been fortunately limited to ::

- a small, half-worn out, single blade peanut my father gave me in 1962. It was lost in 1966 in the San Gabriel River east of Granger TX, where I fell in harvesting fossilized giant gastropods.

- a no-name all-stainless steel single blade lockback I lost when my tackle box failed a "float test". A 3 foot wake from a house boat flipped the 12 foot jon boat a friend and I were fishing from on Lake Travis, NW of Austin Tx.

I'm still hoping this one is only "temporarily misplaced" - a Buck 484 is taking an extended vacation somewhere in the layers of insulation of the 4000+ sq ft attic of my house. It slipped from my pocket while reinsulating the house 5 or 6 years ago. I actually know where it is - somewhere in a 1500 sq ft section over the living room/ dining room. I kinda half-ass search for it every time I make a foray into the attic.

I lost a Survive! Necker on the French broad River durring a kayak fishing trip. Pulled it out of the neck sheath, and laid it on top of my life vest on my upper chest. Turned around to grab a different tackle box and PLOP! It slidsright of. l have wanted to replace it with a necker 2 but just haven't seen one for sale in forever.

Cruwear Manix C.F. version. I lost it at work one Friday a few months ago. The pain is subsiding, especially now since I've found a replacement.

Couple of SAK's gone forver.. and my LG insingo was misplaced for a few days.

I was quite relieved when I found that one.
