Knives you have lost along the way

Many years ago I had a Barry Woods Swinglock that I had lost, (sold because of finances at the time) and I was sorry it was gone. I was talkin' about it here on the forum and mentioned how I missed it and that same day I got a PM requesting my address. A member here had told me he had been collecting the same knife I had given up.

A few days late and package arrived in the mail and inside was this.

I did lose a pair of Custom Crawford's about 5 years ago and recent found out that this year CRKT did a collaboration with Pat and Wes Crawford of the same knife I lost. Now it's neowhere near the Crawford but the CRKT did feel good in my hand. Of course now I won't be happy till I get the real deal but at least this did fill a void for now and I'm havin ' a ball carryin' it.

Here's the CRKT Offbeat I picked up a week ago. less than the price of dinner for 2 at Applebee's, you can't go wrong. :)

I "lost" a Buck 112 Ranger because it was stolen out of my car by the mechanic doing my front brakes. I can't prove that but it was in the car when I dropped it off and was not there when I picked the car up.

That Ranger was on my belt when I went hunting with my father and I used it when I shot my first buck.
That was the trip that I learned that, when it comes to knives, two is one and one is none. I lost my father in 1979 and the 112 about 1982, IIRC.

I have replaced the knife but it's just not the same. Of all the knives I've bought, sold, traded, or gifted, this is the only one that I really, truly miss.

I hate thieves.

A few months ago I dropped a new Emerson gentle Jim..... still pretty pissed about it. Someone at the local dairy king got pretty lucky.

I lost a Microtech UTX-70 because the clip was bent out and I couldn't remove the clip to bend it back because of their proprietary screws! I will NEVER buy a knife with proprietary screws again.

I also lost a DPX HEAT/F Ti after it must have caught on my messenger bag and got pulled out of my pocket on the way to work but I replaced it. Such a great big little knife!

I've lost a few at a younger age back before I knew I was actually "into knives".. Can't recall what they were but generally I would guess some kind of walmart folder or old traditional

My dad gave me a stag handled Browning knife in a nice leather pouch and it just disappeared one day, that is the knife I miss the most. I'm still hoping that maybe my mom just picked it up and moved it years ago and she will find it one day. I also lost a Hogue Ex01, pretty sure my ex stole that.

no better feeling than to find a knife you lost though, recently found my brous blades silent soldier neck knife(love that thing).

Like I said earlier, I haven't lost a knife in 25 years but it's stories like these that me cringe. I just can't imagine dropping a few hundred (or thousands) on a knife and lose it. If I lost my D2 Rat 1 or Manix 2, it would stink but I wouldn't cry about the $ lost.

Sorry to all those that had knives stolen or lost. It stinks.

I have lost a few. Usually cheap ones that were of no consequence. My big loss was a Benchmade Onslaught 741. What a gorgeous knive.

I've lost a few knives in my past; off the top of my head....

"Ruger" branded cheap knife in my youth, set it down on a shelf in a store where I worked and found it a few days later. Amazingly nobody (customers) found it and pocketed it.

Kershaw (cannot remember the model) assisted knife found inside the hood of my truck after driving around with it in there for weeks.

And, the only expensive one which happened recently and breaks my heart...a Benchmade Bone collector , let my buddy use it at a party, he gave it back to me and instead of putting it back in my pocket (I may or may not have consumed multiple adult beverages) placed it on the patio table.well, needless to say, somebody who was there now has a new, ill-gotten Benchmade . Still pisses me off! I hate a thief!!! I really liked that knife and haven't replaced ir yet.

Now I'm sad again. Lol.

I've lost about 4 Case knives that must have slid out of my pocket into a seat cushion.

Also lost an ESEE 6. It was in my trucks tool box, then it wasn't. It's my fault for not keeping it in a safer place.
