I have an old Ka-Bar Mule that I bought years ago. It sits in a box most of the time, but it does get out for use occasionally. This knife has noticeable weight when picked up, almost half a pound, and it has a utilitarian lack of grace that just says tool. It feels big and bulky when opened and the blade length is also rather utilitarian. Aesthetics seemingly were not a priority in this design. But despite, or maybe even because of it's tough no nonsense presence, I like this one. It just has plain old AUS8 steel but it is hollow ground and very easy to sharpen to a razor edge. The noticeable in hand weight, it's size and construction, lends a feeling of toughness and reliability to this knife. And the GREAT sheath is basically unique in this price range. There is nothing fancy or overtly attractive about this knife, yet the sum of its parts make for a nice tool. Many years later, I still like my old grip worn Mule.
