Thread on knives you own made me think about all the knives i've either lost, broken or given away. Take a moment to remember your fallen bladed comrades

Victorinox Swiss Army Soldier (lost while throwing at trees as a kid )
Victorinox German Soldier's Knife (gave it to a girlfriend)
Victorinox Midnight Manager (lost, fell off keychain)
Victorinox Swiss Champ (saw blade broke, gave it away)
Victorinox Tinker (traded for a Super Tinker)
Victorinox Super Tinker (traded for Deluxe Tinker)
Victorinox Deluxe Tinker (gave to yet another girlfriend)
Leatherman Wave (new style) (gave it to my brother)
Leatherman Juice CS4 (yet another girlfriend)
Cold Steel Voyager (gave to another brother)
Cold Steel Shinobu - small tanto lockback from the 80's. 2 hand opening!- lost while moving

I have an original BlackJack Anaconda with the 8" blade somewhere.
I never can find that damn thing so I guess it's lost.

There are MANY knmives I've had that I've traded-away or sold, that I wish I still had...

A FEW of 'em:

REKAT Sifu
Benchmade 805
Gerber BMF
Ontario Hell's Belle
Gerber Yari
Kershaw Trooper

I had a Case bone handled locking folder that I was given as a high school graduation present that I haven't seen in years and can't find. Hammerhead? It was some sort of shark theme. It was a nice knife.

I lost a Beretta Loveless hunter that disappeared off the tailgate of my truck in my driveway. I had just used it to process a deer, so my guess is that a neighborhood dog ran off with it. I also lost a Buck Crosslock that I think must have fallen out of the back of my truck onto a loading dock. I think everything else I've lost has been junk.

Early 60's SS "U.S." Single blade, 3 tool knife/tool thingy. Traded for 20 HOTWHEELS when I was 9 y/o.

Late 80's GerberGator - Lost in the jungle around Camp Hansen Okinawa 1991.

Cold Steel - 4" Ti-Lite & Rajah II sold to buy other knives.

ZT 400st - Gave to my little sister the SeaBee before she leaves to Afghanistan next month, I had it engraved for her.

Kershaw Groove - sold

CRKT M16 - sold

I have every other knife bought or given to me in 1 of 2 brag bags.

Here's a few that I do miss:

Benchmade 850 Pearl "rec.knives 1997" limited. Miss it because of it's beauty, and the history that I wasn't aware of at the time. Traded away.

Chris English "Z" auto with titanium frame, mother of pearl handles and beautiful ladder-pattern damascus blade. Wow, it was beautiful. Traded away.

Chris Reeve Mnandi with ironwood handles. Just a classic, with awesome quality. Lost it.:(

Darrel Ralph Apogee 1 of 2 with slotted carbon fiber handles over gold-nuggetized Titanium frame with 440V blade and dual thumbstuds and custom clip. Traded away.

I did have a batch of knives stolen long ago. After 13 years I was able to find identical replacements for each one, averaging one year per knife.

And I've lost quite a few knives, Old Timers, Opinels, Bucklite... But I have duplicates/replacements in the collection for safe-keeping.

Otherwise, I have every single knife I've ever owned. :D

Buckmaster

That's only one I wish I had back that was a bad knife.

I have given away more than I have lost:
Manix to a LEO buddy
Kershaw Leek, RECOn1, CS Khuk to my little brother
K.Murr Custom, Busse Badger to my Dad
BM Ritter Grip and Mini Grip to my wife
AK47 to my brother in law
W85 Bowie, Strider AR to my father in law
I don't miss any of them though, we visit on the holidays.

Lost/Broken:
- Victorinox Green 'Bantam' - my first knife, lost it on the way home from work one day. :(
- Benchmade 520 Presidio - that was a real ding in the wallet...
- Kabar Black, serrated - Bought it from a guy who brought it back from Afghanistan. Second knife I ever bought... learned a lot about sharpening by trial and error. Tried to chop with it and bent it at the tang...found I could bend it back to straight with my bare hands . Talk about soft steel...

Sold/Traded:
- Gerber Mk. II - Traded for some cash and two Cold Steel Tomahawks
- Cold Steel Tomahawks - stripped the coating, reworked the edges, filed/sanded off all the flash and jagged edges, sanded down the handles and refinished one of them, engraved one, then put a nice forced patina on both of them. Then sold them. Kinda regret it, but the experience was fun.
- Spyderco Endura 3, ATS-55 - Looked around for one for a long time. Finally found one, then barely ever used it. Durrr.

Many more than that, but those are the ones that jump to mind.

Too many to list -- Over the past year and a half, I have cut my collection from over 200 to just under 50. Most of what I let go included my older (but popular brand) $50-100 models, several bali's, and a few less-heard-of brands.

Sold/Traded:
-I’ll update this section when I have a week off!
Lost/Stolen:
-Benchmade mini AFCK combo blade (It was my edc for about 7 years. This was my first $100+ folder. I saw it in an ad in American Handgunner when it first came out and I had to have it.)
-Benchmade Darkstar with plain blade
-Benchmade 940 green with plain blade (best folder I ever owned)
-Benchmade HK Ally
-Benchmade Stryker (original Stryker) tanto satin blade
-Victorinox Swiss Army Tinker
-Gerber Ultralight LST Knife
-Kershaw Leek (2)
Given Away (while drinking):
-Kershaw Shallot all black
-Kershaw Leek (1)
-Blade Tech Ganyana Black
-Kissing Crane Red Jigged Bone Toothpick

That is just off the top of my head.

I'm going to stop now. I find it hard to type, cry and barf at the same time. Ugh!

My GFs brother told me over a couple drinks that he has never owned a good knife.
So I took out my Spyderco para military and said here, now you do.

Schrade Uncle henry.

My Grandfather gave it to me with a Daisy Red Rider BB gun. I took it home and cut the top of my right index finger off with it a few nights later and my parents confiscated it. I was eight years old.

Randall Model 16 to F-16 pilot nephew. The knife was with him when he won the "Distinguished Flying Cross" on the opening night of the war.

Paramilitary 2, i didn't like the compression lock too much but i should gave it more of a chance. Now they're hard to find. It flicked open sooo nice.
