Knives you thought would be a hit?

Spyderco C83 Persian

It went OOP too quickly.Probably didn't sell well.I can't imagine why.

The Camillus CUDA (Bates) MADD MAXX 7" folder. Nothing worked better on wedding cakes, watermelons, and tall grass.

Whatever happened to the Kershaw Echo, and Outcast? When I saw they were producing large fixed blades that looked like they could compete with some of the more popular stuff out there, I thought they'd be discussed and praised all over the place. Does anyone even own an Echo? I know the Outcast made a bit bigger splash, but that talk seems to have died down.

Spyderco Kumo looked to be a great one, as well. I still want one, but they never seemed that popular.

My biggest disappointment was the Tom Brown Tracker. It cost so much money and wasn't worth it's weight in metal. I really bought into the hype and I feel so stupid for it.

... which knives were the ones you saw debut and said "that's going to be big" and turned out not to be?

Buck 55. I figured it'd be a huge seller to guys who love the classic Buck 110 but find it far too large to carry on a daily basis.
