I think I've only bought one knife online before, I prefer to see them in person and just don't buy a whole lot of stuff online. But I recently bought a Mnandi and GEC #38 Special from KnivesShipFree and just wanted to say it was a great experience. We usually hear more about the bad experiences than the good ones, so here's my thumbs up for KnivesShipFree :thumbsup:

On another note, it was sad to see that Derrick Bohn recently passed away. I really enjoy his YouTube videos and his sense of humor.

I agree & I also enjoyed Derrick’s videos as well. I bought several Randall Made Knives from them in the past and remember they have a points or a reward program towards discounts which helped on retail prices.

One of the features that I like best about knivesshipfree is that when I buy a wood inlay Chris Reeves knife, I can see an actual picture of the knife that I am buying. This was crucial when I bought a spalted beech minandi from them. I did not want to leave the patterning up to chance. I have bought two CRs and one GEC from them. I used my reward points for the last purchase resulting in a significant discount. By the way, I use standard shipping and it arrives with three days. I would also rate them GOOD. Highly recommended.

I was really picky about the spalted beech wood inlay and didn't want to leave it to chance (not to mention the long wait list) by ordering through CRK directly. I scrutinized the KSF pictures, finally made a choice, and the same knife arrived at my door. The pictures were excellent and even showed a few prominent ray flecks that I immediately recognized wen holding the knife. It was a good process.

I'll look into the reward points... I told myself that these two knives were the last ones for a while, but if I can get a good deal who knows :)

On a side note, I really like my GEC #38 Special! I have to admit that at the moment I am more into this knife than the Mnandi.
