As far as I know, the "DD" is a CS one-of experiment, and the first with this 'hammered' finish. I'm guessing that Garth drank some seriously high quality tequila and got inspired! ...If he decides to create others with the same (what looks to be hand applied) finish, then I guess that this one could then qualify as the proto... Maybe?

Thanxx, guys & gal! ...I'm blown away with it, myself. Never did I think that in a score of SFNO's, a S/S NMFBM, an ARK variant, & a .25" satin/black paper micarta SJ (a grail knife for me)... that an Active Duty would wind up being my favorite of the bunch!! It'll be a gem in my collection for quite some time. :thumbup:

Proposition: that finish will look great on small to medium sized knives. But not on the big ones.

Using a NMFBM and this Melted Hammered Nuke style, to me this would be flippin cool and easy to maintain.

The Busse Crew certainly did represent at the Fall 2008 Knob Creek event! Lots of great stuff went and I was lucky enough to get my hoofs on a few very sweet Busse's, thanxx to one heckuva great HOG who was kind enough to proxy for me. :thumbup: A small haul... But I love 'em all!! ...Especially the SJ, the DD (Drunken Duty) & the ARK variant...
Without further ado, here's some pix.
Satin Snakeskin NMFBM #3 of 13...
A pair of satin SFNO's, snakeskin & mag black micarta...
A 1/4 inch thick SJ, satin with black paper...
The ARK variant, sage with a D/C spine & tang. This knife is very comfortable in the hand...
And the Drunken Duty. This Active Duty has a saber & (EDIT) hollow ground (awww, yeah!) blade with a hammered (Hammered = Drunken... Get it? LOL), or forge finish everywhere but on the convexed area which is satin finished. I love this AD!! I hope that this wasn't a PITA for Garth to do, 'cause I'd love to see more knives make it out of the Custom Shop with this type of look to 'em... SOOOOWEET!

Dude that ARK and hammered AD are awesome! Wish I hadn't missed that show. The ARK is one of my favorite users and that one looks very comfy!
