So it was my first time there. Long trip at about 11 plus hour drive straight but it was well worth it. I met so many members here in person and got to put a face to a board name. I had a great time and just wanted to say thanks to everyone that was so very nice. I was able to find a knife or two I at a great price so I picked up one or two. I can't believe how ever though we are all on the same board but have never met, that the second we actually see them in person, how cool everyone is, it's really incredible!
As for the show itself, well that was just crazy. I wonder to myself why or how some of these things are able to be owned by people like the rocket launchers or a cannon. But it was cool to see everything in action and there were some awesome stuff.
Special thanks to Garth and the Busse crew. They were really nice and I loved just hanging out, talking about stuff in general. I went off my diet for the night and just had pizza, cheesecake (thanks Amy, it ruled!) and stuff. The knives were amazing. I still have to meet and would like to hang out with the Boss but that may be a long trip. I'm not sure just yet.
But to everyone that I met, it was great and I'm glad we got to meet in person. To everyone that missed it, well, you missed it, these are a great bunch of people.
Dan

Wow, 11 hours! You must be way up in NE PA! I wish I could have gone too. Someday...

Sounds good.

I might be going to blade so if you can make it this far we can ride together. :)

Sounds like you had a good time Dan. The last time i was at KC was in 1990 and Jerry was'nt set up there yet. I can't wait to go again and meet all the folks and Busse crew.
But What you did'nt sell or trade any knives Dan? :D

I was wondering the same thing....and no offense to anyone in Kentucky... but I dont know how they let you own a cannon or a bazooka....that state be crazy!!!!:eek::confused::confused::D:D:D

If you can pass the background check, have the money and do the paperwork you can buy whatever you want. ;)

I can't remember the last crime committed with a cannon or a bazooka.

That said, in free states you can pretty much own anything.

Pre 86 machine guns with a 200 dollar tax stamp, short barrel rifles ( below 16 inch barrels), short barrel shotguns (below 18 inch barrels) and even cannons (destructive device).

Paperwork, fingerprint card, passport photo, chief of police sign off and then ship it off to the atf with extortion, exclusionary funds.. wait, wait, call atf and harass them, finally get your tax stamp and pick up your new toy.

Yeah man, we need some pics. Haven't you learned that by now?:p

These days with the Internet you don't need to legitimately own rocket launchers if you want to commit crimes .... IED's and improvised mortars are too easily "found" and in certain countries "made" .... they even have "schools" for this sort of thing ....

Their schools are a bit different to ours .... with their's you actually get "house points" for leaving your rucksack on the bus ....

So the re-enactment guys are probably the safest owners of these things the world has ever seen ....

Edied - And yes ... we need pic's !! Who got the NMFBM's ??? .... Dan ...;):D:D

Just make the trek to Blade, and you can stay up all night with Jerry, drinking booze and smoking cigars. Good times.

Ah yes, the canon and the mini gun were the highlights of my day. Those and the Busse table.
