So I've been looking it up and trying to figure it out....

What is a knock block?

I googled it, and found another ad from the OP on another forum. Here's the content:

"Have you ever had someone at work say something really stupid? For law enforcement or other emergency service personnel when we hear things like "We haven't dealt with So-and-So in awhile" or "we haven't had a fatal accident lately" we are all quickly looking for a piece of wood to knock on. Modern, squad cars, firetrucks and ambulances have NO wood in them. The knock block solved that issue. Stick it to your dash with Velcro, or I have mine stuck to my radio case with a magnet. My local dispatchers all have one at their desk with little rubber feet.

These also work for other jobs, or places that don't have wood."

So... portable superstition. Gotcha ;)

For what it's worth, I generally just knock on my skull. The implication being... somewhat obvious.

No superstition involved. People have knocked on wood for thousands of years, to summon the gods and elves that live in the trees so they can protect you (and possibly bring you cookies)

All joking aside, yes they are just small blocks of figured wood that are meant to be mounted in squad cars, ambulances, fire trucks or any other work environment that doesn't have wood to knock on when someone says something stupid. They can be mounted with either velcro, N42 magnets or just little rubber feet for setting on a desk.

Yeah, that just about perfectly fits the definition of superstition ;)

"Superstition is the belief in supernatural causality—that one event causes another without any natural process linking the two events—such as astrology and certain aspects linked to religion, like omens, witchcraft, and prophecies, that contradict natural science."

Anyways, nice blocks.

Geez....i'm *really* glad somebody else asked so i didn't have to wonder if i was the dumbest guy on the thread....lol

Great idea tho- i'll keep this in mind..

I would be down for a tactical version of the knock block. Everything is better with the word "tactical" in its name.
