Does anyone recognize the model this is a copy of?

It looks like a Dmitry Sinkevich design....

It's a knock off of the Sinkevich Polychotky. If you want a "real" Polychotky, ZT has a version of the junior coming out later this year.

Looks like that one ZT... I lost it with their number names.

Thanks for the information. I really like the design. Glad to see a ZT version coming out, because I won't be caught dead buying counterfeit knock-off garbage.

the real thing is affordable too, its only like $225 MSRP (street price will probably be lower) and it has colored carbon fiber.

The Zero Tolerance 0450CF, designed by Dmitry Sinkevich, is one of ZT’s top-selling knives. But some knife users have been asking for a little more—a little more size, a little more handle curve, a little more carbon fiber, a little more Sinkevich. ZT's answer? The new 0460.

In size, it’s slightly larger than the 0450, but not as large as the 0452CF. The blade steel is S35VN for enhanced toughness and resistance to edge chipping with no loss of wear resistance. Rich in niobium, vanadium, and chromium carbides, it enables a sharp, long-lasting edge. For sharp looks, ZT gives the blade a two-tone finish: stonewashed on the flats and satin on the grinds.

Based on Dmitry’s Polychotky Jr., the 0460’s carbon-fiber-and-titanium handle has a pronounced ergonomic curve to fit into the hollow of the hand neatly. The front scale is bronze carbon fiber. This relatively recently developed composite material offers the benefits of carbon fiber, but with the ability to colorize the material as well—in the case of the 0460, the color is an attractive bronze. We partially 3D machined the front handle for dimensionality and grip as well.

The handle back is titanium with a titanium frame lock and hardened steel lockbar insert. A matte black anodized aluminum backspacer adds a handsome decorative touch. The pocketclip is left/right reversible and is black Teflon® coated.

dont quote me but iirc should be between March and April i assume May at the latest. unless someone else knows exactly.

I saw a pic of that in a magazine and liked it too. Never owned a ZT. I handled one I bought for a buddy though. Assisted open IIRC. I have a little kershaw flipper and an assisted. I like assisted. Anybody know a similar design with a spring?

Since when did zt start making flippers with s35 steel?

Don't know how reliable this is, but I heard they had issues sourcing Elmax and M390 and that's why they moved to S35VN and 204P. The switch happened quite awhile ago, can't remember exactly, but I would say a year or more.

S35VN is now the economy steel for ZT knives. Elmax had issues with heat treating and 204p had a price stability issue... I think. Something like that. I hate getting old and not remembering everything I read.

the steel choices are dictated to what's available at the time and or prices. Or so that's how I understand it

there were no issues of elmax that I can find. I do remember someone started a rumor about it.
