The Reever Bend looks like half of the Sheet Bend done twice.

I have a piece of cord I keep around to remember how to do the Carrick Bend https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrick_bend . Once you know that one, it is not much further to change it to the Diamond Knot https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_knot . For connecting flat straps, I use the Water Knot https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_knot .

Gary W. Graley posted something like this a while back........Doing tree removal the running bowline and the.clove and half hitch were most.often used.......Easy to tie and untie even after ridiculous weight has been hauled.....

Knots have fascinated me lately, I've made a lot of lanyards that use Diamond knots, Wide Diamond knots and snake knots as well as a whipping knot to keep the lanyard in place.

But recently learned of a knot called a Reever Bend. This is the type of knot used to tie two ends of cordage together, either to end up with a loop or just to extend a length of cord. I've used it to make a loop to hang a bird feeder so it can be hung on a hook, using that knot made it much neater and also very strong.
Other knots I am familiar with such as the bowline, square, sheets bend, half hitch, clove...

Thanks for linking back to that thread! Some handy info there and learned a couple of new knots. I enjoy learning about knots and trying to use appropriate knots for different purposes. Trouble is, remembering them when the time comes. Would you believe, I keep forgetting how to tie a simple sheet bend? I have occasional need for a buntline hitch and have trouble remembering that one, too. At least I've never forgotten how to tie a bowline or a clove hitch!
