"A hypnic or hypnagogic jerk is an involuntary muscle twitch which occurs during hypnagogia, just as a person is beginning to fall asleep." Is this what you are refering to? Got me?

The clamp is a medical one for clamping plastic or rubber tubes closed or slowing down the flow of liquid.
May be a bit dated, now they use plastic ones

i use this to clip on to the blade blank to do the plunge line .
i take the sanding belt up to the edge and stop.
its the same on both sides then i remove it and do the bevel.
it helps when you are looken for that scribe line and can't see it.
in this picture you can get the drift.

Great idea, I can see making one of these would be very easy also with a allen headed set screw etc...
Thanks for the tip.

Good call Tinbasher. We use those where I work (biotech stuff). We call them "thumb screws". They come in a variety of sizes: pinky, pointer, middle, and thumb :D.

Vern, why didn't you show me that before I spent $40 on a nice file guide?!?

Just kidding, Tracy, I'm very happy with the file guide :)

Put a longer handle on it and it could be useful to holding the blade as well as a bevel guide when doing folders.

Something like that could be handy to clamp a board onto a table or bench for jeweler's saw work.
