I have been working on this one for a while. The steel is W2 with a hamon. The bolster is nickel silver, coined G-10 spacer, and a curly koa handle. I did not use alignment pins with the different handle pieces, but shaped each piece individually until I was happy with the fit. The koa handle is slightly proud from the spacer and bolster.

Although I really like the look, I'm not sure that I'll do a coined spacer again. The spaces tend to collect gunk, and it is not very easy to clean.

The sheath is hand stamped veg tanned leather, with a suede lined retention strap.

I really dig Koa handles on knives. It is really nice, and I like how you have shaped this handle with a little bit of a 'memory bump' in the handle. Nice attention to detail there.

I'd maybe suggest just a little more sheen on the handle finish. It will make the ripples in the grain pop a bit more.

Thanks for the comments. It's hard to capture all of the facets of the wood in a 2D picture. It has a lot of chatoyance and movement.

I don't like glossy handle finishes, so this was finished to 2500 grit and lightly hand buffed.

Beautiful Shane. You mention "coined g10 spacer." I am assuming the coined is the little ridges in it. What is the purpose of that? Just looks?

I really like the shape of your knife and I have grown to like the look of hamons too.

Thanks everyone!

The coined part is the file work on the spacer. I don't think it serves much purpose, other than something else to fuss and obsess over during its making... :o
