Kobra question ?

Harpersgrace, I wouldn't worry too much about the warranty issue on the Kobra. Just use your head before you use it on anything other than a person;) It really depends on the specs of your kobra as too how much abuse it will take. I have a 25"er by Kumar that is pretty beefy. Comes in at over 2 lbs. It has a thin edge on it, but Kumar did it right and as long as my technique is good and i don't twist the blade when i strike, then it should be ok (now if i had only not hit a nail with it:( ding city). Then their is my magical 20.5" 20.5oz Kobra by amtrak. This one is just awesome. if i new a dang thing about martial arts then this would be the blade for me. However, Amtrak must have known when he crafted it that it was going to go to clumbsy destructive westerner. While only 20.5 oz, it has a beautiful convex edge on it that is as thick as any of my other khuks. Cuts like a light sabre on PCP. its insane. Tried to strike a 3/4" grapevine. Cut it at an angle and it went through the vine and neatly bisected a dogwood sapling growing under it. Really cool to watch a slide in half like in an anime movie:) However, i know its limitations, and i don't push it on more than 1" saplings and branches.
Just look at it this way, the kobras don't give you the pillowy goodness of the lifetime warranty (that is if you abuse then i.e. wave up the edge on 1000 year old oak or pry open a stump with it and bend the crap out of it), but they do force you to take care of them. To mend them if you injure them. That's a really cool bond. The kobra is not bulletproof, but its loyal. Let us know what you think of yours when you get it:)
