Good Afternoon,

This blade is made from 1/4" 1084 hand sanded to 1500 and etched to reveal the hamon.

The handle is made from stacked leather and wrought iron. The leather was treated with west systems epoxy when stacking and then beeswax once the handle was ground and fresh leather was exposed. This leaves the leather really tough and hard but retains the leather texture in the final grip. The guard and pommel are forged from an old ship chain link. The tang is 1/4" x 5/8" so there is plenty of material under the leather. The guard is soldered and the pommel is threaded on to provide maximum compression of the leather while the epoxy dries and then the tang is peened over to lock everything in place.

The weight is 14 ounces and the balance point is right at the back of the guard. Balanced this way the knife feels very light in the hand.

The sheath and frog are made from 9-10 ounces leather and set up for right hand carry.

Price SOLD, shipping is included to continental United States via USPS.
