I've decided to let go of this Flipper DUK.
It's pretty rare considering there aren't many in existence and it originated as a custom order from Kody. The blade is a nice handrubbed CPM-154 that features a polished and crowned spine with contrasting machine satin flats. Edge looks fantastic and original and is sharp. The scales are dark stonewash/tumbled and are the "scalloped" style. Inside the scallops are intricately machined lines that add a nice texture and aesthetic value. It has a black canvas micarta inlay on either side of the pivot. Within those are 2 gear-shaped timascus/mokuti pivot collar inlays. The backspacer and clip also feature this same material. Detent is nice and snappy with only medium pressure needed to deploy the blade. Lockup is solid in all directions and there is no blade play or other mechanical issues to note. Centering is dead-on to my eye. I have taken this apart 1 time to install newer Ticonnector Delrin Ceramic caged bearings that replace the older stainless/ceramic cages. The fitment on this knife overall is very good and the overall condition I'd say is excellent. The mokuti accents all look vivid and well maintained, as does the blade. I did notice some very faint hairlines on the blade but they are nearly impossible to photograph as the hand rub makes them basically imperceptible. I'd rate this one a 9.25/10. Does not include COA but does have original pouch. I'll include the original bearings as well as these Ticonnector ones.
