konfessing my Kershaw Luv!!!

Kershaw is really improving lately, I love the assited openning, every time I show it people says "wow, that's damn fast!" and want to have one hehe. I can't wait for the s30v Spec Bump!!!

I want a Spec Bump sooooo bad. I have the Blackout ($40 @ wallyworld) now and I love it but it doesn't hold an edge too well -when I cut insulation or drywall it has to be razor sharp.

I bought the Native but I returned it because there was too much blade play (all 3 in stock had it).

My first decent knife was a Kershaw Vapor II, and it is the knife that got me interested in collecting more. It has held up wonderfully and the Aus 6 blade is much better than people give it credit for, and this is from somebody who owns several S30V and ZDP-189 knives. I would probally still carry it if I didn't love my Spyderco Para so much.
I will always have a soft spot for the Kershaw Vapor II for getting me into knives, it they ever came out with a special addition S30V blade/titanium handle version I would buy one for sure!

I saw this post and decided to join up. I am also a lover of Kershaw knives. I've had a few and my current EDC is a leek. I love it. Perfect knife. Now if they would only make a leek without assisted opening I'd be really happy.

No assisted open? Joe, bite your tounge!

Jerok,

My guess is the really rough griptape stuff on the side. I almost bought a Blur but the stuff is harsh as heck on your hands. My hands are dry enough as it is. I don't need skateboard griptape on a knife handle tearing my skin off.

It would be nice if they replaced all their griptape stuff with G10.

Joe, Jerok, as a matter of fact there is a 2006 Blur that has the tape exchanged with a silver twill G-10. Just thought you would like to know. Delivery will be March or there abouts.

Joe, for what it's worth, you can take an old sharpening stone and "rub" or smooth out that grip tape to your liking. It cuts off the sharp peaks and makes it much easier on the hands! *warning* be careful not to hit the metal part of the handle as the stone will scratch. ;)

wwells20, good idea. That stuff is just really aggressive when it comes to shredding pants pockets and finger skin.

Interesting. Gouys I show the Blur to think the grip tape is an asset, not a liability. Great traction. In fact, one of my buddies said, 'I like your leek, but I wish it had a grip like the Blur.' Diffrn't strokes for diffrn't folks.

Granted, can be harsh on the pocket. But I like it.
