Ever since buying my first Kopa (a black quince) I've really come to like this model, alot. To me it's just a great design/size with beautiful handles. The problem is, I've obtained two more (an apple coral & honey jigged bone) but I just can't bring myself to use them, since there were only so many made and I don't want to ruin them as they'd be collector's items. I'm considering picking up another, either apple coral or honey jigged to actually USE but then I think, "Put the ones (or at least one) you have to use!" Anyone else stuck in this dillema?!!

I don't have a Kopa (yet), but I do have a couple Spydies that I don't want to scratch. I still carry them, but I make sure that I don't have anything else in the pocket besides them. I also have a couple that I don't use.

Use them, or at least carry them in your pocket on occasion... Just don't "abuse" them.

yeah it's the common Kopa "catch22" ;) whichever one you choose to carry, you might want to get a backup.....just in case :p I carry my cocobolo one on some occasions :)

I love my Kopas :D

I have a couple of backups, and currently my Kopa EDC is a black micarta one as it is less prone to marking. I cannot bring myself to using any of my others (yet !). The Cocobolo is coming close to being dropped into my pocket as is the Tiger Coral one.
Howver, due to lack of backups it is holding me back a bit.....won't be long though as I have lately been bitten by the EDC bug which has seen me crack open a fair few knives I've babied for so long. Yep, these are definitely made for using.

BUT....i see your point, the Kopa along with the Kiwi sprints do resemble man jewellery and you don't want to ruin them do you :P

Cheers

Kopa Cocobolo was my fist Kopa and the knife, which get me hooked on Spydies.
I decided to buy whole set. All of them are so beautiful that I wasn't able to bring myself to use them. About a year ago I bought my second Cocobolo, so I EDC this one. That made me appreciates Kopas even more, it is a great knife, mostly light use: open mail, plastic bags. Unfortunately I put quite a few scratches on the bolsters and need to fix it.
I strongly feel that I need second Jigged Bone Kopa.

I have a Black Quince on the way :) it never crossed my mind that she would end up as a safe queen. Kopas scream attention so EDC'ing wont feel so bad

I guess the difference is a woman is wise enough to wear and enjoy her jewelry. :D

ROFL ! Quite right :D But the Kopa doesn't cost nearly as much as some womens jewellery  And no womens jewellery I know has bolsters that scratch up just by looking at it :D

My black micarta one does feel very nice in hand. If it sits in the pocket too long I tend to pick it up and have a quick fondle  now and again !

More people should enjoy the Kopa, and more who own them should go ahead and use them. Amazing cutting power for such a little bugger !

I'm surprised how often I grab my black micarta Kopa on my way out the door. It competes for pocket time with my small Reg. Sebe and about a dozen other "user" pocket knives that I've collected over the years. The Kopa is a particularly good design. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks good thoughts about this knife.
