KORA

I've wanted one of these for a while. Then again, I want most of the stuff on the H.I. website! If we could get some feed back on these it would be great! Those of you that have then please post! Uncle, how would you rate them? Are the finish and balance good?

So to spill the beans, Jim's secret project is a HI Kora.

Right, Jim?

The secret project of Jim's is not a kora -- see recent post.

Bura said he could make and would make any type of kora that a customer might want but he needs a picture and dimensions. If Bura makes it then count on it being one of the best. The guy does incredible work.

If I remember right, a month or two back Uncle Bill said they still had one kora left from the batch they'd made long ago. Did that get sold?

( This is the reverse of Pavlov's experiment. Dangle a goodie in from of forumites, and they start ringing Uncle Bill's bell - the phone bell, that is. )

Oh Yeah? Well I want one of everything

I think that this is the best promotion that Bill could have done. We have been without a khuk fix for a while and he comes back with more

I just checked and I do have one old kora left. Price is $325. It's 26 inches and about 6 pounds. A LOT of blade. Comes in a hinged oak case -- kami made hinges and hook attachment. Pretty good quality with very good fit and finish but not as good as BirGorkha would make.
