  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Koster Bushcraft (in progress)

Not that I'm any expert but why don't you get some small diameter rubber tubing (surgical), slit it and slip it on the lip of the clamp. I just thought of this because I love those suckers too but hate the marks and having to move them.

Yeah.
I tried cushoning it with closed cellfoam, which works great, but to be honoust. I really don't mind that much. They are meant to be users, and are bound to be scratched anyway. If you want something really pretty there are other guys doing a waaaaay better job then me. And in the overall package, it doesn't look too bad I guess. There are loads of toolmarks to be found when you look really critical.

Thanks.

Maybe it's shrunk so tight that it will stay put?

No.
Without coming up with a tutorial: It's a combination of wetmolding, and shrinkage to fit. Applied heat during the process, and the finish also have a role in that. But if I had to name it, I'd call it molded to fit, not shrunk.
That goes for the halftanned.
The lappleather is another story. I haven't really cracked that yet. The sheath worked out fine, but there's a very very little space between the leather and the kydex. You can feel it when you push it in.

Thanks.

The one on the right is my favourite.

I won't use these rivets anymore until I get a decent rivetsetter.

The look is great, but it feels a bit 'plastic' compared to the halftanned..

This setup worked best after all.
