• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Koster bushcraft?

I'd keep the Bravo-1. If you don't feel like waiting for a Koster knife with larger scales, I suggest looking at the Bark River T.U.S.K. - a ~3" straight bladed Wharncliff design. I think of it as a large scale version of a popular chip-carving knife I really enjoyed use of over the years. It is my best 'woodcarver' Barkie (I also have the Huntsman, Fox River, Gameskeeper, North Star, and Boone.). The handle is nearly as long and shaped like a Gameskeeper, their 'large' handle - just not as thick. It would fail miserably as a 'driller', perhaps limiting it to most from being a 'bushcraft' knife.

The Koster looks fine for 'bushcraft' use - but I have a Buck Vanguard that I thought perfect for that, too. I used it a lot - before my 'enlightenment' (My intro to much more expensive 'bushcraft' knives!).

How about a good close-up or two of someone's Koster Bushcraft?
