I have had this for a few years and have not really used it more than once or twice, so up for sale it goes. It is a Koster Bushcrafter with desert ironwood scales. It will come with the pictured Diomedes Industries sheath as well.
In looking at the handle in bright light, I can see there are a few hairline cracks in the desert ironwood. I have tried to show them as best as I can in the following photos. A few things about the cracks...
-- holding the knife in my hand, I cannot feel that they are there
--in anything other than bright light, I cannot see that they are there
--the cracks are on the surface only and do not go through the scales
--the cracks in no way affect the functionality of the knife; the scales are extremely secure and in place
--if I was going to keep this knife, I'd ensure that they were stable by adding some thin CA and calling it good
Unfortunately, I do not know what steel it is. The edge, tip, and the rest of the knife is in excellent shape.
Because of the hairline cracks in the scales, I am letting this knife and sheath go for the killer price of $125 shipped CONUS with payment by PP.
CONUS only. No trades and no returns. That said, I would be shocked if someone did not love this knife for the price once they get it in hand. It will make a very exceptional and trustworthy user. I also reserve the right to sell to whomever I so choose and for whatever reason. Payment must be immediate or I will move on to the next person.
