Wenge is a tropical hardwood that has very hard fibers mixed with softer parts. Great for handles. Dan sandblasted the wood to remove the softer stuff, so it looks really neat.

Is the sheath a cross-draw? Also, does the sandblasting of the Wenge give it a textured feel, by removing the softer material, leaving a "grippy" feel? Could you post a close-up of the handle?
