Both of these are 3v steel.

Koster Bushcrafter with ironwood scales and brass corby bolts. This is an earlier generation with less agressive grooves on the spine, which are more comfortable than the newer grooves in my opinion. The knife has been used and sharpened. There is a little patina on the blade, and the edge has been thoroughly sharpened. Dan's knives come sharp, but fairly rough ground. I sharpened it by hand with diamond then ceramic flat stones to maintain the flat scandi grind. It is MUCH sharper than it was when it was new, and the edge is more refined.

Comes with a Talfuchre/Diomedes Industries sheath that is absolutely wonderful. Last I heard, Talfuchre wasn't making sheaths anymore.

Koster M.U.C.K. with natural/tan canvas micarta. This is one of the earlier MUCKs released from the waiting list, I think I was somewhere in the 40's on the list. Waited for a year and a half to get this knife, and I've used it a lot. If money weren't a problem right now, this wouldn't be sold. Blade is wearing smooth from use, and is filthy from use as you can see. The edge has been convexed, and stropped up for this sale. Comes with Specops sheath.

I wish I could tell you what generation it is, all I know is that there have been a couple of generations since... I know he made the thumb grooves more agressive in a following generation, then in the most recent he moved them forward on the blade.
