I have a regular Koster nessie and a mini-nessie, but can't find pics of them at the moment.

Found one of the regular nessie. Need to take some better pics of that one!

I really liked the original design the best except for the thicker blade.

I'm not sure what the generation is on the birch one. It's O1 and 1/8" thick.

It had a large guard thingie sticking out but I ground it off:thumbup:;)

I think the 1/8" is perfect for slicing and food prep more than the thicker one.

I think Kosters is one of the best sized ones of all.

HD, That Birch handle Bushcraft is stunning. Man, I wish I would have got one on 01 when they were around. I think the 1st generation is a better looking knife than the ones that follow. I understand why Dan made changes but the firts ones are just so damn good looking.

I am hearing that guys like the handle of the gen 2 with the thinness of the latest knife...

Great images, as always... Seen 'em before, but always love seeing them again.

Yeah I'm not sure what generation the 01 one is but the thinner blade makes it way better as a camp/food prep knife which I do way more than batoning or anything.

WOW MNEEDHAM. if you ever decide to sell that Koster Monster Nessie w/ the piggy back set up let me know. that is by far one of my favorite set ups i have seen on any site so far. awesome man

Marion,

I love my Gen. 1 bushcraft. I think it is a better looking knife aesthetically, IMO. I will never sell this one. The only drawback about the knife to me is that the scales are on the thin side. Dan listened to his cutomers and made future runs with thicker scales. I plan on putting thicker scales on in the future.

All around the 3v steel is great, the jimping is better looking than the subsequent generations, and I believe a little for functional.

I do believe that the Koster bushcraft is still the best value in a super steel bushcraft knife.
