I just measured the edge and it is .008"-.009" thick behind the edge. This thing is a superb slicer, even better than my reground Police 3 due to the extra belly. It is also thin in the pocket and very lightweight for it's size. If I was looking into buying a Barong I would have it drop shipped to Tom Krein for this makeover. I think Tom might single handedly bring a bump in Barong sales if enough people get to see what he does for these knives. Taking a knife from a no buy to a must get with some work on the grinder is quite an accomplishment by Tom.
Oh yeah, this is GREAT in the kitchen. The blade angle relative to the handle really helps to keep your hand offthe cutting board, and it slices through apples and tomatos like a champ. This is a great EDC. The only thing I am not a huge fan of is that liner lock, but it is rock solid and I trust it like I trust my Millie.
