It's been a Banner week for me, a long awaited Tom Krein Ultimate Caper and one
of his Old School Paring knives arrived in the same week and on the weekend
I got that Burt Foster damascus one, I'm Whuppped mentally and walletlly ;)

Here are the Kreins, both are tremendous cutters, especially the CPM3v bladed
Ultimate Caper,

Sweet knives both, the Ospk is made with A2 and like a razor,

Not right away, can't think of another knife I'd be jonesin' for just yet,
guess I'm too blown away with the three in one week thing ;)
Sold my kershaw JunkYard dog II to help pay for these beauties :(

And man that CPM3v takes an exceptional edge and Tom ground it
thin as 3v can take it being thinner too.

Thanks, should make mention that this one was a 'Special Edition' or Request
if you will, I insisted that he make one for me without the choil/notch before
the edge, to me that is my biggest pet peeve, next would be a thick edge and
lastly a too curvy blade, more a wharncliffish guy ;)

So, no notch before the edge
CPM3v blade material
Lightening holes in the handle for weight reduction
black liner under the pumpkin G10 scales

All in all, one sweet knife :)

Ultimate Caper lookin' good Gary, Lovin' that sheath for the OSPK, and the colors in your shots are unreal (even on this old junky work monitor!)..
 
Thanks, here are some shots of that Ospk sheath, as I don't take on orders
for fixed blade sheaths, but it may give some other guys some ideas for a short
knife like this.

you can see the belt loop runs the full length of the sheath, which allows you to
raise the sheath up when you go to sit down in your truck/car/work and also allows
you to tilt the sheath to draw it out and it makes the opening a little higher to make
it easier to return the knife too, I've been wearing this sheath since last Thursday night,
the day the Ospk arrived and I HAD to make something to carry it to Ashokan in, so it
was a rush job on this sheath;

I stitch down to a point and then pull the thread back onto the top side, glue down
the belt loop, make my holes and put the thread back through and continue on
stitching around the end of the knife.

Thanks, the guard area of the knife snaps softly into place
when you put the knife in, I cam'd the welt so the guard
rides in on a curve and drops down into a small valley to
help retain the knife, works pretty good, but as I say, it was
done quickly, still had to clean up my desk/work area and pack
yet, so it was hectic, but wow what a knife!
